Last night I also noticed 2 or 3 ebay auctions of that particular Pinkie MIB with the same discoloration, So it's probably something I'll have to just deal with since If I got another one it potentially would just happen again.

It's not as noticeable in certain lighting, which is probably why I hadn't noticed it before.

Yeah, it is definitely a different type of plastic.

That bottom pic is the part of my collection that directly faces a window, but I've always had the blinds closed and there has never been sunlight directly hitting it.

The rest of my stuff is on the left side of those shelfs above my TV mostly.

This is a pic I took a couple of weeks ago, and I kinda see it now but it didn't stick out to me as obviously as it did when I noticed it today.

Guess I'll have to get used to Pinkie's weird looking new tan.

Yeah, some of my G4 Ponies have always had weird discoloration but nothing I've ever noticed having gotten worse since I've had them. I'm not even sure Pinkie's head ever perfectly matched her body but it definitely has taken on a more yellowish color than it ever had before. I have most of my other Pinkie stuff in the same spot and none of them look discolored.

I do remember tho that a lot of the earlier EQG dolls I bought had particularly crummy quality control compared to later ones. The ones that have peg feet had really stringy thin hair that goes frizzy really easily.

I was just looking at my collection and I just noticed that Pinkie's face has discolored to a noticeably different hue to the rest of her body. I'm really bummed since she was my favorite one. I dunno if I did anything to cause it or if Hasbro's quality control just sucks. I haven't found any other pieces in my collection that have discolored. There is a window facing it but the blinds are always closed and the light that does leak out of them never directly hits my collection. We also have the heat on right now since its very cold. I wish there was something I could do.

Pony Corral / Re: Do you ever take a Hiatus from Pony collecting?

Two my computer is jacked up so I am saving for a new one.

Funny You mention that, I'm currently doing the same. Mine is so old it's not even worth putting more money into to get fixed.

Just wondering if any others experience this.

I still try to keep up on Pony news when I think about it or hear about something, but I haven't been actively collecting as of lately, mainly as I haven't really been compelled by anything new coming out lately and because I've kinda started to slow down a little and keep things to a minimum in order to keep my Pony collection from reaching it's limit to what I have space for in my house, lol. If I happen to see something I like once in a blue moon I would still pick it up and I don't consider myself to have "stopped" collecting, I just haven't been as active as I used to. I also haven't frequented the forums as often as I used to either, but I do still lurk from time to time.

I've also gotten into Star Wars and WWE as of lately, so alot of my extra fun money has been going towards those. I still treasure my existing collection but I just feel as if I've taken a break for awhile until I see something else that interests me.

Off Topic / Anybody know of any good in-ear heaphones?
« on: July 12, 2015, 03:58:23 PM »
My 5 year old Lady Gaga Heartbeats finally went out in 1 ear, but I'm pretty sure they were counterfeit anyway and considering the fact that they even lasted 5 years never mind that they sounded amazing, I'd say I got my money's worth out of them.

I originally got these headphones in 2010 on eBay close to when they first came out, and I later learned they they were most likely fakes as the comparison videos I saw later on how to tel fakes from the real ones indicated mine were fake, but even so they sounded so much better than any other headphone I had ever hear at the time considering I only paid $40 for them. I've had many other pairs of headphones of various types and varieties but no other pair of in ear headphones sounded as good or lasted as long as those which is why I kept using them for so long. Seeing as these haven't been made in years I'm not really looking to get another pair but I want something that has deep, undistorted bass but without it drowning out everything else. i find many in ear phones tend to have a very tinny metallic sound and don't sound very robust at all.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I would rather not having to keep wasting money on cheap sounding heaphones that stop working after a month.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Looking for 90's LPS Sea World sets
« on: June 07, 2015, 05:43:25 PM »
I don't really collect LPS but I recently saw pics online of the LPS Sea World Stars line and I have fallen in love with them. I don't know too much about vintage LPS and I'm sure these sets are probably hard to find loose and complete, but if anyone has any of these for a good price I would definitely be interested.

I don't know if anyone else here has had any similar experiences but I've had so many issues with buying anything online lately that i'm close to just giving up online shopping all together.

In the last month I have ordered 3 CDs from different sellers on Amazon and all of them were clearly used items that were resealed in cheap plastic wrap and passed off as new. Beyonce's 4 Deluxe Edition and Self-Titled albums, and Christina Aguilera Back to Basics, all 3 were sold from completely different sellers and they all were similarly repackaged. I've bought enough brand new CD to know without any doubt that these are not 'new'. The shrink wrap is cheap and completely different from factory sealed retail CDs, the jewel cases are a different style than what factory sealed ones would come in, and one of the Beyonce ones and Christina Aguilera had discs 1 and 2 put in the case backwards and with fingerprint smudges, and the pages to the booklet of the Christina one were stuck together and had wrinkles.

The thing is, for what I paid for these I am satisfied with what I got, the CDs are in nice condition with no scratches, but I am disappointed by the fact that so many 3rd party sellers are passing these off as Brand New and that this seems to be a very widespread thing. If these were sold as lightly used reslealed items I would be perfectly ok with this, but when something is advertised as "Brand New", I expect to receive a factory sealed item.

I doubt reporting these sellers or leaving negative feedback would do much good, so I guess I will just have to stop ordering from 3rd party sellers. I have enough problems ordering from Amazon directly as they often use inadequate packaging and my items frequently arrive damaged, whereas I don't experience that as much with 3rd party sellers and it's often times at a considerable savings to order from them, but lately it seems to be a gamble as to whether you actually receive what is advertised.

Pony Corral / Re: Equestria Girls toys coming to McDonalds

Has anyone figured out a good way to display the EQG dolls? I have the whole set but I can't get the dolls to stand up at all, especially Fluttershy and Twilight who are very top heavy because of the wings.
I lean them over a tub of paint or sealant or I lean them over the pony counterparts LOL

LOL

I'm thinking about sculpting some sort of stand for Twilight.  I cannot get her to stand at all.  And every time she topples over she takes out other ponies with her. lol

Until I come up with a better idea, This is what I ended up doing with mine:

I got mine right when they came out, but I had to go to a couple of McDonald's until I found someone who was willing to go out of their way to dig me up a whole set from the back, lol.

Oddly, Applejack seems to be the only one of the EQGs with any articulation below the neck.

that is seriously really cool! Reminds me of the mini Marvel playsets me and my brother had as a kid, but they weren't shaped like character heads.

Off Topic / Re: Your worst work story!
« on: April 06, 2015, 06:33:51 PM »
I don't have one story but many smaller ones. I worked security for years, and when I started out I did a lot of bouncing and event type work. I have been scratched, pissed on, spat on and even had to perform cpr on an od at a concert.

I now work in childcare, so the nasty stuff gets worse lol. On a very regular basis (sometimes daily, but sometimes I may have a day or two incident free) I have been vomited on (yesterday was the last vomit that landed directly on me) urinated on, sometimes I have been pooped on, I also work with quiet a few additional needs children which I absolutely love, but at times they can and will lash out. Its rare a day goes by I am not hit, kicked, scratched or bitten. I had one do all that in the space of a couple of minutes yesterday whilst I tried to change his nappy. Unfortunately most of the girls I work with have no idea how to handle these children, they are either scared of them or can be too confronting for them which can make a bad situation esculate quickly.

I think the worst few moments were being projectile vomited on, and pretty much my front from the neck down, including my arms, was covered in vomit. I vomited myself once trying to clean poo out of a pair of undies. Nobody should have to do that, and if I was a parent I feel the jocks would go straight in the bin. And lastly I had one child rip their nappy off and swing it around their head like a lassoo, I have never been so glad NOT to see poo in a nappy before or after.

At our center we are supposed to throw underwear away if there is so much poop in it that it's considered unsalvageable. I have dealt with many of the same things you describe, lol.
