Rainy day thread. May I please see your nirvana/variant collections?

Hello all!  It's a rainy day here so I'm enjoying a nice day of hot cocoa and soup and sandwiches. 


In the meantime, I would love to learn some stuff today!  Can I please see the variant collections?  What types of nirvana ponies do you collect and why?  And do any of your ponies have neat stories?


I don't collect all that much any more...but I am super partial to my TE ponies, nirvanas and variants.  (surprise! )

here is my current italian collection - and its growing!

i collect them because i always didnt like the glittery symbols and when i got my first italy pony (i think it was gusty) i figured out that they had non glittery symbols - yeah! my magenta blossom and my magenta bow tie were lucky finds from flea markets and the brown butterscotch version is from ebay, i got her for a bargain!

currently i am looking for some upgrades because some have slightly cut hair. italy powder is on her way and medley is ordered from a pony-friend of mine!

I collect Heart Throb variants because she was my favorite pony as a child. I also like mommy and baby sets so I try to buy babies for U.S. ponies that never had any (so far, I only have baby butterscotch and I have a peruvian baby Medley coming in the mail). Finally, I'm trying to get at least one pony from every country that produced them. I will wait for the Venezuela ponies to drop in price though

I really don't collect nirvanas but I still happen to own couple of them. Mostly Italians but also two Greeks and two Germans. I have a soft spot for Greek ponies but they're usually too pricey for me. I've considered to start collecting German princess variants though since they're so pretty.

These are such gorgeous collections!  Thank you so much for sharing everyone!  I'm hoping to get some good updated photos of my collection done soon so I can share too!

Zora I love the Italians!  They are so pretty!  So bright and vibrant!  I must say, I think Heart Throb is my favorite though. 

sillymoosey  What a gorgeous Heart Throb collection!  The custom babies are so cute!  Do you have plans for a Daddy Heart Throb...?  Steamer would be a good donor!  ^-^  P.S. I'm the same way about wanting my mommies to have babies and vice versa! 

annukkainen That chartreuse haired Tiffany is to die for!  Stunning colors on her!  And Greeks are so amazing, but I hear ya - always out of my budget!  And I'm never patient enough to try and stalk different ebays looking for one. 

michelle53  You know how I feel about your wingers.    Aside from a winger army, do you have any particular objects of a hunt?

missbonbon They are so stunning!  I love princess variants, but there are so many out there I never even attempted to try and sort through them, let alone collect them!  They are completely amazing!  Where do you find them?  And are you bringing any this fall to the meet?

cloud_weaver: If I can make it to the meet I most definately will bring them I have mostly purchased mine from Shelti and some through ebay. I agree there are so many out there, but I absolutely love princess ponies

What countries aside from Germany have princess variants been found from?  BTW, my favorite variant of yours is the one completely without a symbol!

This is more or less a group shot of my collection. My beloved happy tails and princesses. Spain, Italy, and a couple of others too. Sorry if you think there hair is terrible... it is bag hair! (Plus the fact im not a fan of cleaning and washing cos i do enough of it at work)
