So since classes are done until September (yay!), I have time to work on this puppet thing. I've been trying to make a bit os a blueprint for it, but as usual I have no idea what I am doing. I want to make something that gives the illusion of walking a dog, but I don't know how to go about this. Any suggestions?

Below is just a wonky looking furfrou blueprint (if you can call it that much).

I've never made more than a little hand puppet, nothing fancy.  I still have my old favorite marionette somewhere, though.  I had a blue Limber Louie as a kid and I loved that thing.  I also have an awesome monkey hand puppet from when I was younger too.

I just looked up limber Louie. It looks so cute and familiar!

Nope! Can't say this has ever happened to me.

What brand of tea is it?

Hmm. It look's familiar, but I've never had it. It's either Lipton, Celestial, or Bigelow for me.
Celestial is one of my favorites

Update:
It worked like a charm! No shadows, no blurs, and it even looked good enough to color digitally!

Are you laying the sketchbook on the floor when you take the pic? Perhaps it would help to lean it against a wall so the shadow angle doesn't hit it. Alternatively, you could use another light source and play with the angle of the light till you notice the shadow falling outside the picture.

I never really thought about that. I'll test those out and see if they work. Thank you!

So I'm not really sure if this goes in the art section or not, but I have a quick question about taking pictures with your phone.

The only scanner in this house is a small old one from 2000-something, and it's too small for me to scan things from my sketchbook with. Since I really wanted to put some pics on my site and stuff I've been using my phone to take pictures and the like. My problem is that they come out like this:

So my shadow ends up taking up space in the picture or things get blurred.
Does anyone know how to handle this?
