PC: Fair/con exclusives?

Ive fallen into the trap of desiring the annual exclusives. I see them mostly in box, though if I were to own them Id most likely want to display them out of the box.

Could I get a price check on the fair&comic con exclusive G3s, in and out of box?

The fair & SDCC ones specificially. Which by my count is about 15...so yeah I guess a fairly long list.
Im mostly wanting to know what they might fetch OOB since I more often see them MIB.

I prefer all my ponies loose, so Id rather purchase them that way instead of decreasing the value myself

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the light-up DJ from a few years ago, and MIB I think she's going for retail ($50) and under most of the time.  I don't think that's one that people bother taking out of the package, since the package is kind of a big part of her presentation. 

I don't think Frisco and Trolley ever really go for less than $150, even OOP.  They, and Bay Breeze, are the ones with the fewest produced to begin with but you're also, I think, most likely to find them loose.

I had no idea how small the production was on those! I'll definitely have to stop staring longingly at those ones...

Well Bay Breeze was a weird situation.  Hasbro, I believe, initially said she'd be a limited edition for the Fair, and then would be released later for everyone else (maybe altered a bit, I don't remember).  And then that didn't happen.  She's limited to whatever number was sold at the Fair.

The other two had maybe 150 each?

Most of them in good condition will go for similar prices loose or in package, I think.  There's few enough of them around that they primarily stayed in the hands of adult collectors, so open is pretty much mint condition, and rare enough to get the same prices, maybe $5-10 less?

Yes - initially she was supposed to be a pre-release of the store version of her.  She was supposed to be promoting the upcoming G3 line (I think the scent ponies...?  Don't quote me on that).  But then she was never released, and thus stayed an exclusive.  Aside from LSPP, she was the first exclusive pony - by accident at that!

They did eventually release her as a Ponyville figure, but it's not the same, lol!

Actually, I think so!  But trading her was fair game.    I traded for my girl.

I don't remember her being a pre-release of an unreleased figure, does anyone have a source for that?   

Her symbol is a combo of two store ponies, which to me suggests that she was always intended as a fair pony.

But yeah, I remember how Hasbro tried to put a moratorium on reselling her, like "NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO RESELL THIS PONY EVER".   My guess is they were trying to stop scalpers.  I doubt something like that would be legally enforceable and Hasbro obviously doesn't care after all this time soooo . . . yeah.

Wow, sure enough, people talking about her "being in stores later" (lol nope) . . . I guess I was so engrossed by the "can't EVER EVER be resold" aspect at the time that that part passed right over my head at the time.
