A nostalgic hello!

Hi, fellow pony lovers!

I'm Lauren and I'm 28 years old. I've been a My Little Pony collector since I was a small girl, starting back in the 80's. My mom often gave my sister and me ponies for holidays, our birthdays and just random occasions when she thought a pony could brighten up our day. Back then, my collection consisted of ponies like Yum Yum, Baby Clipper, Sunspot, Tassels and many, many more. I feel lucky to have been a pony lover all the way back in the day! I've had the joy of watching the MLP toys grow in many new and interesting ways since then.

Nowadays, I'm still focused on the more vintage G1 ponies. I don't plan to expand my pony collection much since my doll and toy hobbies are quite extensive, but I'm having fun picking and choosing which older ponies to add to my little family. Since so many of the ponies from my childhood are in more played with condition, I've decided to acquire only minty G1 ponies for the time being. Like with many of my other dolls and toys, finding older ponies in gorgeous condition is such a thrill!

The most recent addition was a mint in package Goldilocks. She's quickly become my pride and joy. More about her arrival on my blog.

I've been trying to take more interest in the newer generation of MLP by watching Friendship is Magic once in a while. I find it to be a very cute show that fits this generation of animation and humor, and I think it's nice that the overall sweetness of the pony stories has been passed on to a new era of MLP fans. Also, I have to note that Pony has become the main obsession for me. She's taken up a special place in my heart. I've blogged about my love for Pony on HappilyCandied.com.

Other tidbits of information about me...

I'm a doll and toy artist, as well as a professional product photographer. Fruits of my labor regarding both professions can be viewed on my site. My college degree was in English, so you'll also often find me integrating my passion for writing into many of my business endeavors.

What an interesting introduction your wrote

It's not hard to guess you make a living out of photography because that pic of Goldilocks is awesome.  I too grew up with G1 ponies (which are the main focus of my collection) and am also enjoying seeing all of the new lines Hasbro are bringing out.  I am sure you will love the Arena and all of the pony-obsessed people you are going to meet here
