Hello!

I am so excited to join this group.  I am an original brony (I really don't like that term, please let me know if there is an alternate term for male pony lovers) from 1985 on.  One of the few toys/ cartoons my cousins and I could all play with and watch while they were in the US and my family was in Germany.  Sadly, as I grew up we gave the girls all of my ponies.  I had such a huge herd!    I did get to save ONE little pony- Clipper.  Now that ponies have entered G5 I have begun collecting again.  I have a moderate collection of G5 ponies and have just recently begun the daunting (and VERY exciting) task of recollecting my G1 ponies.  I am one seapony and a shell away from having the entire Rescue at Midnight Castle/ Firefly's Adventure crew.  I also have a few random ponies from the cartoon series.  I was lucky enough to pick up all of the DVDs which include the movies (in their edited forms-Boo!  ) which I still love watching.  Since I have recently started collecting again and am almost 30, am leaning more towards restoration with my collection rather than having to find mint ponies.  I am VERY inexperienced with styling pony hair (girls have a leg up on me since I've never used rollers) but I have had great luck with conditioning the hair and getting almost every pony's mane and tail silky soft.  As much flack as I will get for this, I have to say that I LOVE THE SEAPONIES!!!  My favorite animal is the seahorse, so there!  I am just so excited that in almost 30 years the ponies have not only stayed but continue to grow and evolve.

Welcome to the arena The ponies that your talking about G5, are they the ones in the stores right now? If so they are generation 4.

Haha, yeah, as Ave said, the current line of MLP is G4 (though it is the 5th release of MLP). They did what is referred to as G3.5, or Ponyville, a few years ago with all the ponies having giant, anime like heads. At least in my opinion, lol.

Thank you for the welcome!!!  Thanks for the correction!  I just looked at body styles and assumed what is called 3.5 was 4.  Good to know.

and welcome to the Arena.  Not too found of the brony title myself, I just call anyone with more then two ponies pony collectors.  Works great.  Also ponyville is part of the G3 line, not a separate generation.
