Attention all Indiana and surrounding area Pony Fans!

I've noticed that there are quite a few members from Indiana here on the arena, so I wanted to just test the waters and see if there would be much of an interest in planning a meet up? Nothing super fancy (like the Fair), but maybe just get together and sell some stuff, have some games and crafts, eat good food, show off our ponies ...that sort of thing

 I was thinking of looking into trying to plan one in central Indiana, so it's fairly equal distance from all parts of the state. Of course if you are outside of the state you are more than welcome to also vote, and attend if this winds up happening!

So please vote, or leave a comment, or PM, and let's see if we can make this happen! Also chime in if you have venue ideas, or best time of year. And if anyone else loves this idea and wants to help pull this together, definitely PM me

I live in Chicago and wouldn't mind driving a few hours. Depends on date.

I am from Cincinnati so I would be able to make it also.  Depending on the date of course.  When are you thinking?

I've not pinned down any dates yet - I'm pretty open, but want enough time to be able to reserve a place. Does anyone have dates they can recommend that would work better?

I'm in Grand Rapids Michigan and might be down for the 4 hour drive! I love Indy!

The Kentucky meet is on October 1st so just not too close to that maybe.

As far as dates go, there's a Lexington KY meet that a bunch of us are going to on October 1st.   Gypsy is setting it up -- you're more than welcome to join us    (edit: haha, Sheena, you beat me to it)

I personally have plans Sept 10th, 17th, Oct 1st, 8th.

I would suggest maybe early November?  Like the 5th?  Since we are at the end of August, September may be too soon.  Then with the other local meet up being October 1st you may want to space it out some.   But if you get too late in November you have the holidays starting

I was worrying about the holiday rush...I know it's get pretty busy from Nov thru Dec. Do you think planning it for spring would be too far in advance?

Also, is there a link to the Oct. 1st meet? I've been trying to find it on the Arena but haven't had any luck yet!

Gypsy is organizing it, so you can message her here. I don't know if there was a thread here or not, but there's a group on Facebook.   If this LINK does work, you can message me your FB name and I can send an invite. 

I don't think it's too early to plan for spring, especially if we need to reserve a place to host it.   If we get too late in the year, the weather might become an issue.

I'm so excited at the response so far!   

What are the opinions on trying to plan for a meet in Feb. or March? It's past the holiday rush, but still gives us something to look forward to until spring arrives. There is the slight concern about snow and traveling, but otherwise I think it may be a good time to shoot for. I think the later into spring we go, there may be less interest since the main fair will then be getting closer.

I am about 40 miles from the Indiana bridge from Kentucky, so a few hours driving won't hurt! Personally, I am available any weekend until October-April I am also going to Gypsy's meet too, but yes count me in for this one! I am sure my friend, who collects G3 but isn't in the online community, would tag along as well.
