Sooo... did anybody carve pumpkins this year?

For those of you that celebrate/decorate for Halloween.

I just carved pumpkins with my boyfriend and his sister yesterday. We had a contest over Facebook to see which pumpkin was the coolest, and mine won (much to my boyfriend's dismay since he won last year's contest.)

Mine was #2, my boyfriend's was #1, and his sister's was #3. I'm rather pleased with how mine looks in the dark when it's glowing.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and this is one tradition that I love doing. I had so much fun getting messy with all of the pumpkin guts. Did anybody else carve pumpkins this year? Feel free to show them off here.

We stopped doing it when my sister developed an allergy to pumpkin insides and just never picked it up after she moved out. Seeing all these cool pumpkins makes me want to pick it up again!

My mom will, I think. She made one couple years ago.

I love carved pumpkins. I don't have enough patience to make one.

I haven't yet, because it's so hot here still, I'm worried about them decaying too fast.  But this weekend I probably will.

Going to be carving mine this weekend - I'm going with a raven theme, like Poe's poem. Nevermore!

Last year didn't do the pumpkin thing, since we were packing to move a month later.

The year before I did a bunny that came out really good (especially for my first time carving a pumpkin).

So many people I know carved theirs about a week ago. We carved early last year but the pumpkins got gross and stinky right around Halloween time. I wanted to make sure they'd last through Halloween night this year. It's also been pretty cold around here so I'm hoping that'll help preserve them. I can't wait to see everyone's creations!

Those are some nice lookin' pumpkins. We have a pumpkin, but didn't carve it. It's been rather rainy and cold here this month... not great pumpkin display weather...

Wow.  Those are some very well carved pumpkins, Sandra.  We don't tend to celebrate Halloween so much in my country so I've never carved a pumpkin of my own!

We still haven't gotten our pumpkins to carve. My hubby has been working from 6-6 lately so hopefully tomorrow we'll get a chance to run to the store after I am done with work get our pumpkins and start carving! I do a whole giant yard display for Halloween and it's not going to be the same without carved pumpkins (plus I roast the seeds for him once we are done)
