MLP Mixed with......Sea Urchins?

This one's a little avant-garde for my tastes, but Britain's famous life-sized G3s have always fascinated me. I would love to see one of them in person! Do they still show up at the UK PonyCon? I've always wondered how many there are/were in total; whether they made a new one for each display or just kept repainting the same handful over and over... I'm glad at least one of them isn't mouldering away in a warehouse or landfill, even if its new look is a little eyebrow-raising.

There were quite a few life-sized G3 sightings back in the day! I think the first one was Wysteria in 2003. She was part of a London shop window display. There was also a Desert Rose and a Sunny Daze... I want to say Meadowbrook too, but that might not be right. There were two pop art style ponies as well, one reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein and one that was Warhol inspired. They used to show up at the UK PonyCon for photo-ops, but I think that stopped when G3 came to an end. I was afraid they might have been scrapped, but clearly at least one survived... in a way.

Am I the only one who was reminded of 'Fruit by the Foot' when looking at that rainbow? 
Not sure how I feel about the spiny look, but I actually kinda like her.

To me the rainbow looks like a really long tongue that she is dragging on the floor.

The rainbow is cool. It's like, blooop.

Also her hair looks like gum or icing!

I was trying to figure out why this reminded me of candy so much. I thought it must be the rainbow part, but then I finally realised: she looks like she's covered in Hershey Kisses! And now that you mention it, RainbowRay, her hair does look very bubblegum-ish.

Here's a photo of Wysteria's window display. It's hard to get a sense of scale from it, but I'd estimate she's about 1.5m tall, truly pony-sized!

Apparently tje artist behind it also sells insanely overpriced shirts with a G4 Dash vector that might or might not was stolen, G3 ponies and one with more Rainbow 'Pink' Dash if that's even supposed to be her the first plave.
