So I've had two members now say they've found Wave 2 blind bags (Tealove, Starswirl, Daisy dreams etc) in stores now.
Can anyone confirm this? And if so, what store? (preferably with pics) :biggrin:

So I looked again, and I think now maybe 3 people have seen them! One in Texas, one in NY and one in PA. Argghh coastal states get everything first! Which I guess makes sense since they arrive on the coasts then get shipped inland but ARGHH WANTY TEA LOVE NOW XD

I'll keep an eye out for them, but I didn't find the wave 1 bags until a few weeks after everyone else. Then the first box I found, someone had beaten me to it and I only got like 4 bags out of it. I'm not looking forward to having to make multiple trips to find them.

We have wave 2 here currently. I've never seen any of the other ones.
I live in west Texas and we only just now got Wave 2 at our Wal-Mart stores.

Hmmm my TRU was pretty good about stocking them quickly. I'll see if I can stop in this weekend. I did notice the last time I went in though that the price went from $1.99 > $2.50. Has anyone else seen this?

Mine doesn't have wave two, but I did notice that the price was kind of high... I think 2.99. :/ I neeeded Flowerwishes though, and that was the first one I'd seen for a while.
I hope we get wave two soon!

Yay! I'll have to go take a look! The last time I went looking for some though I found that they didn't have the cheat numbers on them, so I decided not to get any because I didn't want to risk any doubles. Did my store just get a factory flawed set or has anyone else noticed this too? I hope they don't decide to get rid of the cheat numbers!

If I remember correctly, they didn't get rid of the numbers and more just changed the placement/string. So they show up near the middle of the flap and the numbers are different (still follow a pattern, I can't find my cheat sheet link, if I can find it I'll post it!)
Hopefully this is true... I can only get to my Wal-Mart once or twice a month.. and usually the box is practically empty or waiting to be restocked. Ugh, I want Tealove so bad ;o;/

When you guys see them in WalMart, are they with the toys or trading cards? Also, do the wave 2 bags have a tiny hole in them so you can scoot the pony up to it to see the colors? That's what I do with non #'d bags. I did notice different placement on the wave 1 bags, even in the same box.

In the Walmart's I've seen them, they're in the toy section with pony stuff. (Verified by the one time I found it at my walmart and the two times I found them in Dallas with just empty boxes.)

Thanks, Kiwi. I have been checking my WalMart weekly for a month. Nada. I will keep checking weekly. I am thrilled I found them at Toys R Us though. Even if they are wave 1, it gives me hope. :)

Well the newer US wave 1 bags have the numbering located on a side flap and they are slightly different. The way you can tell what wave it is is by the bag color. The old bags were pink, the new wave 2 bags should be purple.
Edit: to clarify guys, Wave 2 is NOT the wave 1 bags with different. Number placement, but new purple bags entirely

butler PA about an hour north of pitt doesnt have wave 2 yet. neither does the newcastle bypass..... bleh... trying to convince my dad to check the one in gibsonia.... (i think that's where someone saw some?)
praying!!! they did have almost empty boxes, so im hoping that when they restock the new ones will come! ^__^

I agree about midwest...it toook forever to get wave 1 i picked up a honey buzz a week or two ago..and it had the odd numberin on the flap...i so should have written them down....i want wave 2 so bad...they are the only ponies i can buy!!!!!! We have city wide rummage sales over the summer..so only special need ponies is all i can get....i do not see blind bags in a lot of sales...as most of them would get lost in their room.

I checked the TRU in Chesterfield, Kirkwood, and Mehlville, as well as the Walmart at the last two locations. Both Walmarts barely had any singles, and the TRUs were still wave 1. I did find the ice cream cars though.

I understand this entirely!!!! luckily i trained my bf and mom how to code them, and so theyve been picking them up for me as gifts for some reason or another.... and mom went crazy on easter and got me at least 6 of the set!!!! but me getting them.... i probably only have bought maybe 6 or 8 at the most!

Unfortunately I don't think all the walmarts carry the BB ponies. My local walmart has never gotten them either but the walmart a town over has them. I guess some of the walmarts MLP sections are just smaller than others and decided not to carry them. My local walmart doesn't even have an empty spot where they would go. You should be able to find a price tag on the shelf with a name on it that would be something like Blind Bags (it may say something else) and the price would be $1.99 or in some stores the price is $2.50. If the price tag isn't there then that walmart will probably not get any in. YOu may want to try different walmarts or TRU.

I think we need a blind bag thread, maybe make one with questions of where they've been spotted, if the numbers changed, etc, so we don't have repeat threads?

I did look on the bags for new number placement but couldn't find it. Guess I didn't look good enough. So you say some of the numbers are different now?

For the new numbers, it's literally just follow the standard cheat sheet, because the 2nd and 4th digit of the new number in sequence equal the cheat sheet number.

Ah, time to get more cheap ponies. I hope I can send my mom out on some of these errands, her workplace is closer to TRU than our house. I hope this also doesn't replace wave 1 entirely, I still haven't gotten them all.

I'd love to believe this as my walmart has run out of blind bags, so hopefully the next box that comes in will be Wave 2, but there has been a lot of confusion because of the numbering... Perhaps if those two members could show us pictures to confirm...?

As reported on EquestriaDaily Big Bad Toy Store has new mini figure sets and such listed in their pre-order section (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/search.aspx?search=My+Little+Pony) (expected to be available in July 2012), including something called Blind Bag Series 02 (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS21923&mode=retail).
The box/bag art shown is the same as the Wave 1 packaging, so not sure what Wave we will actually be getting in the US in August.
Everyone, post here when you find out what we are getting!

Yeah I saw that in the thread about it, BBTS just uses filler images if they don't have the right one so I wouldn't worry too much about that particular image. I'm tempted to order a case instead of driving all over trying to find them all, but I don't really want the mane 6 again. I'm super excited though! I'm glad that it seems like we will get all the waves, i was afraid they'd skip over some like they did in the UK.

We never even got the first wave around here--which is weird, since I'm in a major metro area! I looked all around, thinking I'd surely find some to help others complete their collections, but no-go! Really hope Wave 2 shows up here. :)

I know I personally had much much more luck finding them at TRU than at Walmart, and I never saw them at Target. I did however, see them at 5 below.
Hopefully BBTS is correct and wave 2 will be hitting August. I would be sooo disappointed if it was like the newly numbered wave 1 bags or something XD

Man you are not kidding! It looks like if you live in the middle of the state you're pretty much out of luck. I'm lucky enough to have 4? ish TRU's within reasonable driving distance so usually one of them will have what I'm looking for.

They are probably not the same wave but we don't know if they are going to skip the other waves so they can release the wave with Cadence or not.

I had just joined the arena and saw a thread about blind bags and wen't "oh, that's nice" Then on my birthday a friend gave me this awesome goodie bag of crochet stuff and two blind bags. I got Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle. She said she had randomly spotted them at Walmart and my sister had her i liked MLP so she grabbed them. Well now that i'm interested i can't find a single one! I've visited the same walmart my friend shops at multiple times without luck, not even an empty space! It was not until i read this particular thread that i learned TRU stands for Toys R Us. So i now i'll be off trolling them too.
It's super cool that wave 2 is arriving but i haven't been able to get the first wave!

I don't have a TRU close enough to me to check (I used to, but they closed a few years ago and Best Buy opened in its place) but my Wal-Mart always seems to have a full stock of them. And it's not just the same box that no one's buying, either, because I always check and different ones will be missing each time (I have all 24 numbers memorized) and it seems to switch between the 2 and 5 digit codes. Of course, it wasn't like that when they first showed up. The first time I found them, there were just a few left, so I bought them and the box. But the other Wal-Mart that's a bit farther away (and pretty much in the middle of nowhere) had a full box. It took awhile, but lately they've been keeping them stocked all the time. I go to Wal-Mart 3-4 times a month anyway, so I tend to pick up some to trade everytime I go.
I know I'm probably lucky to have a Target and Wal-Mart both within 2 miles of my house, but sometimes I wish we still had a TRU. Now when the new exclusives come out there I'll have to find someone who would be willing to pick them up for me, which of course means I'd have to pay shipping.

I wouldn't be surprised if they use the 5-digit codes instead of the 1-2 digit codes like they did with early wave 1's. It seems that wave 4s are using the 5-digit code.
Though the 1-2 digit code is still in the 5 digit one. Lemme copypasta how I'm going to explain it on my blog:
Want to know a neat work around for the 5 digit code? Just ignore 2 of the numbers! For example, in wave 1, sparkly Rainbow Dash is number 24 on her card. Her packging code is 22445. If you just look at the second and fourth numbers, it's _2_4_, or 24. This system works for wave 4 as well, since we have both card numbers and 5 digit codes for them. So no matter what numbers are on the wave 2 packages, you'll be all set!
Still, I'm really excited for wave 2. I'd rather get Blossomforth and such via the blind bags then through the Pony Friends Forever "Friendship Celebration Collection" thing. I don't want tons of extra accessories.

If you want the full set and don't mind some shipping, hasbrotoyshop (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/my-little-pony-mystery-figure-case-pack?BR=704&ST=SO&PG=1) has the full box for basically the same price as Walmart. The full box of 24 isn't guaranteed to contain one of each pony, but every box I've seen so far has.

I still wouldn't jump to conclusions as images on websites like that are notoriously incorrect, especially for pre-orders. Perhaps Hasbro will clarify at the fair.

So, looks like we are getting "Wave 3" and "Wave 4" in July. Skipping Wave 2.
I put in an email request to ToyWiz.com and BigBadToystore.com for clarification of which wave these blind bags are. BigBadToystore.com got back to me with these replies:

The first one is Purple Box / 2012 Wave 01, and the second one is Blue Box / 2012 Wave 02. New pictures are up and the names of the items have been adjusted to be clearer.

Their name of "2012 Wave 01" and "2012 Wave 02" don't clarify anything, but the images do.

I wonder if the Wave 2 ponies that are apparently going to be skipped will be released at a later date, or, more likely, released later as part of a silly set with lots of accessories that no one wants :P

Or its always possible Wave 2 will simply not be sold by these retailers but perhaps other retailers will pick them up...BBB and ToyWiz dont carry every G4 release. But then again the UK skipped Wave 1 and Wave 2 and started at Wave 3...so who knows with Hasbro lol!

So I looked again, and I think now maybe 3 people have seen them! One in Texas, one in NY and one in PA. Argghh coastal states get everything first! Which I guess makes sense since they arrive on the coasts then get shipped inland but ARGHH WANTY TEA LOVE NOW XD
