Hey guys! I've made some good progress on my castle diorama, so I thought it would be fun to share what I'm working on with it at the moment. Last year I had a thread going for my original work on it, which you can find
right here if you're curious to see older bits of work. Basically, at some point I decided the white and pink color scheme wasn't to my taste, so I am doing a repaint of the whole thing. That involved dismantling and painting every piece, and I figured, hey, while I've got it dismantled, why not make more work for myself and add new flooring, wallpaper, and finish decorating the rooms?
So, here's how that's coming along!

loginIf you compare the photos, you can see a big chunk of the castle is currently still missing, but what's here is complete -- the library and art gallery are looking lovely!

loginAnd the art gallery -- frames and paintings are handmade, mirror from Michael's, some random sculpted doodads and bits and bobs of other interesting stuff.

loginThe library has handmade wood flooring, most of the rest of the castle will have "marble" flooring -- here's an example of the completed section on the bridge.

loginAnd here's how the castle looks from the other side! The textured stone effect is made using Rust-oleum Stone spray in Bleached Stone and Pebble. The roofing and gold doodads have also been repainted.

loginYou may remember from the old thread that there was a little pond out front, which had come with the castle. It was looking increasingly plastic-y and out of place with the other updates, so I replaced it with a pond built into the diorama base, along with some critter friends.
