My new/old Blind Bag Pony display! *now painted!*
« on: July 15, 2012, 01:04:39 PM »
So when I was a little girl, my mom picked up this Enesco wooden display shadow box. I believe it had Christmas ornaments inside as it has tiny little hooks inside. But my blind bag ponies fit perfectly! And I can fit a few more in there eventually as well.

I would like to paint it to match one of the Ponyville houses in the FiM show or perhaps Sweet Apple Acres Barn... I haven't decided! Does anyone have any close up pics of any of the buildings in Ponyville? I can't seem to find any good ones.

*update*
Just in case anyone wanted to see the painted version.  :P Couldn't decide on a particular building, so now it's a Fluttershy House!

That is a Super cute display! I get stuff like that from my work. (Hallmark) but I've never seen that one! I have a disney princess castle display I have celestia and my main six on that I just love. Good luck with painting it! That'll be fun!

There is a tag on the bottom that says "Enesco - 1989"... so I guess it hasn't been around for a long while!
Wow, I didn't realize it was that old.

That is so cool, I would check before you paint to make sure it is not worth more as it is.  If it is not worth anything and you want to paint it I make sure you do not use any paint under the ponies hooves or where they might touch it that will come off onto them or have acid in it.

Or add fabric "carpet" to the floors? I have a shadow box in the garage somewhere. Yours is cooler though. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks guys! It turned out sooo cute when I painted it! I couldn't really find a Ponyville building that I liked so I just did a "Fluttershy inspired" paint job.  :P I will post updated pics when it drys!

And thank you Diamond for the advice!
I learned the hard way about leaching paint... I ruined the bottoms of my Greek Starshine's hooves one time by setting her on a cheaply stained wooden shelf... a GREEK!   But I've since then come up with a solution for that, I use those little clear plastic squares that they place under furniture when you have your carpet shampooed! Works great!
And it was me that painted the Enesco display when I was nine so it's probably not worth anything anymore. LOL
