My husband is in the video game industry as well.  He's a senior technical artist, and he's printed off some models with his company's 3D printer.  It's cool stuff!

Sadly my studio can't afford a 3d printer (yet) we're still a rather small start up. So for the time being I'm stuck using services.

I'm not a one franchise kind of guy when it comes to collecting. mostly it's a matter of i get the main character or a few of the characters i think are cool in any particular franchises. i have several of the playarts figures from halo and mass effect. I also have some gundam Gunpla kits. a ton of Disney infinity figures. Just whatever catches my fancy really.

I'll be making a thread in the arts section of the forum for it but here's a sneak peek of what i'm working on right now. It's a fully articulated figure of princess Luna. she stands 10 inches tall

I've started priming the pieces i have right now and it looks like the rest of the week will mostly be spent sanding everything smooth so the resin casted figures will have a very nice and smooth finish rsther than the grainy texture it has right now frommthe printer.

So cool!  I am so interested in 3D printing, I'm just super rusty with the CAD program I learned on years ago and I have so many other hobbies that I haven't put the time in to relearning and exploring what I can do.   

So looking forward to seeing what you create!  Please post pictures when you finish!
