Does GoodWill have G1 ponies?

I donated some clothes to GoodWill a few years ago and decided to look for some ponies, but I can't remember if they had G1. I remember they had G3, but that's all. Do they usually have G1?
(At the time I was looking for G3 because that was what I always had.)

It depends. Some Goodwill stores sort through their merchandise before it goes on the floor and choose the most valuable or sought after items to put on ShopGoodwill.com. If your store if one of these, they'll usually put the vintage ponies online.

I think mine sends theirs to the capitol location that does list on shopgoodwill.com , playsets sometimes slip through and maybe 1 pony here and there.

I have found boatloads of G4 and fakies, but never a genuine G1..

I think that may be my location, however. You may have luck near you, I live in a busy city DX

Found a Cotton Candy at the local one last weekend. Every store is different. It's rare in some places to find any generation at a Good Will.

I don't have a goodwill, but at the big chain thrift store in my city I might find one/some every second time? most I've ever found was 5 g1 ponies and a Molly or 2 G1 boxes filled with accessories and a sea pony
It all depends on who happened to drop by and donate stuff that day

I've never found a G1 pony in-store, but I've found lots of G1 merch like books and puzzles.  And plenty of G3 ponies, playsets and plushies.

Try a local Flea Market!

Since they lots bunches of Vintage clothes, furniture's, toys, etc. You're bound to find someone with a collection of any Ponies, be prepared for bunches of fakes, Barbies, Furbies, etc.

If you don't find one on your first visit, always go back!
They usually switch up the (some/a few) vendors every week

Sometimes?  It really depends on your location.  Some put all of theirs into lots to sell on eBay but others don't, so it really does depend.

People have found g1s at goodwill.  I haven't yet but I do look every time I go to one.  I did recently find a g1 at a flea market that still had a goodwill sticker on her, so she had *come* from there.  Therefore, there's always a chance.

Sometimes they turn up.  I always check the toy section just to make sure, even though they usually only have G3 and G4 ponies.  Last year my sister found two -- a flutter pony (Lily) and a pony pal (Woolly the Lamb), at two different Goodwill stores.  I'm guessing that even the stores that sort through their toys might not recognize the more unusual-looking ponies (or lambs, in this case) as real MLP items.

A lot of Goodwill's just go straight to selling ponies on their auction website, just because they know how popular they are. But sometimes a few slip through the cracks!!

I wouldn't recommend buying from their site though, often they'll pull one over your head with the shipping prices.
