Pony Life and G4.5

This is the moment it's all lead up to, a new animated series to go with the new style of brushables.

The caption on Instagram and the description on Youtube says:

"We just revealed the next exciting chapter for the MY LITTLE PONY franchise: MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE, an all-new animated series launching next year. More surprises to be revealed soon, we’re feeling good!"

Here is a link to the trailer, it mostly shows off the toys. However, there's some tweened ponies overlayed on top of the footage, and it definitely looks Teen Titans Go!-esque, with sparkly eyes.

Pony Life relocates the ponies to Sugarcube Corner, a local bakery hangout run by Pinkie Pie, which also houses a mysterious cache of magical potions to be broken out when the need arises. The new series will feature all of Friendship Is Magic‘s beloved ensemble — including Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Fluttershy — as well as the same voice actors returning. Befitting the title, Pony Life‘s stories will reportedly be more “slice of life”-oriented than the adventure-driven Friendship Is Magic.

The new MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE show looks at the funny side of friendship.  The new center of the world is Sugarcube Corner – just like going to a friend’s house after school, this is our ponies’ home away from home. Here, Pinkie Pie serves up frosted cupcakes to the best customers in the world— her friends! PONY LIFE episodes feature hilarious, “SLICE OF LIFE” stories that modern kids can relate to.  The series is LOADED with magic, including a mysterious source of potions that Pinkie keeps hidden behind the bakery counter and breaks out when the need arises.

Teen titans go is popular. I get that. But that doesn’t mean hasbro needs to do it too! This...some of it is cute. But I’m not pleased about this at all.
Edit: sat down and watched the video. I really hope this is a bridge between g4 and 5. Or at least a one off, spin off that’s not too important. Something is coming. Just not sure if it’s good.

If there was any doubt, this really does sound like a proper "G4.5" rather than G5, since they're reusing locations and voice actors as well.

This is just hideous. I too am so afraid this will be like Teen Titans Go. I've seen that and it is awful. I don't care if kids like that garbage, adults should know better and give them better to help them develop taste.

I have to admit that the concept of the show does sound interesting. Potions seem to be a big part of it? Who knows what that will be like.

Mmm yeah this is undoubtedly the true G4.5. The animation looks super ugly, ew. I do like the toys themselves but not the art and animation. I'm a little amused they put the word "hell" in a promo video for MLP though.

Oh my goodness, I missed that!  Ugh, I hate everything about this. 

My kiddos are huge fans of Miraculous Ladybug, and it’s one of the cleanest shows I’ve seen.  Just proof that you don’t have to go with the trends to be popular. 🤦‍♀️

Edit to add - this product is targeted to little girls, so why in the world do they even need to put a song about “not needing a man” and just “walk your fine self out the door” in the promo video?! What in the world is wrong with our society....  let kids be KIDS!!!!!   😡

And about 6 or 7 times, at that... with cartoon ponies lip-synching along. :/ Really? I’m no prude, but can we at least keep a pony cartoon aimed at pre-schoolers clean?

*Sigh* I’m not looking forward to this.

On a side note, I actually LOVE Teen Titans Go! Yep, I said it, loud and proud. Have the POPs on my shelf and everything. That doesn’t mean I want MLP to mirror it.
