why the color difference on Scoops please?

I got these at the fair and it was a mad rush before closing so I got them both because I didn't know what color the cones should be? I asked someone (icr but she was nice thanks!) and she thought maybe it was fading but the lighter one's pink seemed almost brighter than the darker cone one and the hair looks the same shade so I wasn't sure.

It looks like they both aged in a different manner. One looks more exposed to sunlight (the lighter cones one).

PS: The right one looks better to me in general.

Just checked and mine looks kind of like a cross between the two, the brighter pink like the left one and the darker cones/cups like the one on the right. *shrug*
I would guess fading but you would think since red dyes fade so quickly that the ice cream cone wouldn't be so bright on the fade ones.
Odds are it is just aging differently between the two though. Is it just the photo and my monitor or are the eyes slightly different in the two as well. BTW love the photobomb by your kitty.

I have definitely seen two different Scoops, and I wondered why the difference too! (Was there a MO version? I should check my guide!) I know some Scoops' can look different due to fading, but I definitely have a pair of Scoops' with slightly different symbols!

There was a MO. But all I found in the guide was that the color of the apron and hat were darker. No mention of symbol differences.

Yeah looking at my picture again (I'm at work and can't check the real ones) their eyes do look different, like one is a more defined line.

silly cat also had my new G2 on the floor licking her hair  she loves pony hair idekw!

How very bizarre. It doesn't quite look like the fading kind of pink to me either but it might be the picture. Who knows maybe they just ran out of the ink cartridges at the factory and replaced with that.

On a side note, how did you get the mobile phone topic icon thingy? I can't find it in the list.

oh look I didn't know  it showed an icon. I assume it just shows up because I'm posting from my phone? I didn't add it anyways at least.

oh possibly its just from my mobile browser version because posting with "view full page" added a different icon despite being on phone

I wasn't aware there was a MO version of Scoops. o,O Now I wonder which version I have.
Interested to know if there is a difference in eye color, mine's eyes look like the one getting sniffed out by the sweet kitty, (more a pinky purple).
How does one tell the difference between regular and MO Scoops anyway, especially if it's just coloration on hat and apron.

Wasn't there a China vs HK Scoops? Perhaps look under their hooves?

Both have HK on them.

other differences noted: Lighter cup/cone pony is very very like very slightly more yellowish and purple hair is just slightly lighter or added yellow (?) as well.
the white dot in her eye is smaller, eyeliner thinner. And the eye color is more a pinkish purple where the darker pony has a more blueish tint to the purple color.
However the darker pony has more faded blush.

interesting to me, I guess I never thought to look for such differences in the same pony!

Could there be excess purple paint on the one on the right side, covering up the pink in the bottom of the glass?   Mine looks more like the one on the left.

BTW, I love this pony! So pretty!

I have a few different ones.  With the regular release,  I have two mail orders - one HK and one China. Both have variant aprons.

HONG KONG - regular release
Pretty much the same as the HK mail order I have, but might have a bit darker purple in the cups. Hard to say if that's a legit variation or just a case of fading.
