They are, but it looks like they have the same symbol. That, on top of having such similar names. It's nuts, especially with them both releasing in the second Favorites set.

the Favorites set  was and will be pain, you have to get repeats on some of them to get the other ones
Lyra ,Cadence and Shining Armor were already release  why  putting them in there, they could have included other ponies
like maybe Big Mac,Mrs Cake and the new baby molasses instead , so to get the other 4 , you will have to get 3 repeats
Lyrica is not even that popular I think LOL

Drama Pony is cool,Diamond Tiara too, not sure about the Villain either, king Sombra could have been better

The general explanation for Lyrica (and their name/mark similarity) is that she's Lyra's mother. As for why she's being included, it's a whole thing. She also got added to the Gameloft game recently, and she'll be in the musically-themed mini threepack with Octavia and Lyra. Lyrica's an opera singer (as seen in Sweet and Elite), Octavia is a cello player, and Lyra... well, who knows.

I'm not wondering why she's being included; that's great. But I do wonder why they're making a different Lyra figure to include that has inaccurate hair color.

That's a cute idea if it's true. BUT then it makes me all the more steamed that they haven't released a Twilight Velvet yet! I want one SO bad....and she is Twilight's mom! COME ON HASBRO!!!!! lol

Same line, yeah. It's looking like there'll be four sets in the next wave: Octavia/Lyrica/Lyra (Rarity mold instead of Twilight mold like the last two times), Diamond Tiara/Silver Spoon/Twist/Cheerilee (Pinkie Pie mold instead of Applejack mold like last time)), Twilight/Chrysalis/Celestia (same mold as before but better painting), and Manticore/Sea Serpent/Nightmare Moon/Fluttershy (unique mold)/Rarity (unique mold with cut off tail).

DJ Pon-3 has a playful pony release, and is on so much random merchandise all over the place I don't think she really needs a mini toy.
