Ball Jointed Dolls- Thread #3

I *finally* had time and desire to get my Big Dipper out of my Mom's safe!

I put in some blue eyes I had bought for 'her'.  Let me tell you, the original eyes are so large that this process was not easy!  I think the result is worth it though.   

As you can see, I also played around with her horns.  I've got these beads in place with just a touch of eye putty right now, but I may do something else.  I mostly wanted to see how this would look.  I *think* I like it.

The more I look at her with these small bud horns, the more I like it.  I knew right away I wanted to try something different with the horns, but I had no idea what.  To be honest I just had these beads laying around and I thought I would try it on a whim.  But they may end up being what I use.  Funny how things work out!

I want to see if I can put in some eye lashes.  I feel that would help.  And one day (maybe a long way down the road) I want to do a face-up. 

Anyway, I appreciate the input!

Ohhhh Your Dipper looks SO precious and sweet! I love what you did with the horns. There's so many possibilities... I've thought about someday getting a second dipper and having it's horns be cherry blossom branches covered in flowers... I wonder what one would look like modded to have a unicorn style horn instead... ahhh I love Big Dipper.

When I first got her I was thinking about doing some kind of antlers.  She really looks more like a deer in my mind.  And yes, I agree about the unicorn horn!  I watched The Last Unicorn on Netflix the other day and I think a Uni-Dipper would be awesome. 

When Photobucket decides to work again I have some new (better) pics.  My hubby let me use his iPhone, so the quality of the new pics is much better.   If I can ever upload them.

I have a question for anyone who owns 44cm Hujoos.  How do you dress them?

I just watched Asenva's review of Hujoo Sara, and she has a ring instead of an S-hook in her head, which makes it look as though her head cannot be removed and easily replaced for redressing.  How easy is it to dress these girls?  Does that ring pose any problems?

I've spent along time trying to convince myself I didn't need a bjd but I've finally given in and got one on a layaway. However I was on eBay and ended up buying a minifee shushu head. Does anyone know if DOA, doll leaves or impldoll bodies would work? And which colour would be a match the head is apparently evenly yellowed.
