Thank you guys! I have a deflocked Cupcake myself - and I appreciate the specific info and pics... Some of my deflocks are right on the money with the tail punch though, I definitely see how that can be a good identifier however! And yes, if I had it in hand, looking for flock reminants, I know personally mine I don't deflock or take off the glue inside the neck seam as thoroughly as everywhere else, and also I know what you mean pkw about the texture, it's like... porous the deflocks.

Those are just hard things to see in a photo online, but I really really REALLY appreciate this info!!

What color eyes, by chance, does Cupcake have instead of the sorta lavender pink of the SS version?

You are specifically interested in Cupcake so I guess this won't be of that much use to you, but since I still happened to have these pics, I thought I'd post one anyway. I think the difference in eyeliner is quite apparent here.

That pics is great! So it looks like it's the whole eye that is more gray in color? Like the center part too?

I am interested in any that were only NSS in Scandinavian versions - so Truly is another one!

Also, I want to say I never ever thought someone selling a Scandinavian pony was purposely passing off a deflock, I genuinely was sparked in interest as to how to identify these ponies :)

Glad it was usefull!

I think that's right, all the black areas are a dark grey colour. I traded the NSS to another collector years ago, but I still have the pics.

Here's a full body comparison too, just for fun. :D

I'm actually having an issue telling with my Gustys, too. I got 3 Gustys in a bait lot: a glittery US, a SS, and a non-flocked one with non-glittery symbols. The non-glitter/non-flocked one is unmarked and doesn't have the lighter eyeliner, but also ZERO traces of flocking, no off-centre tail indent, and her symbols are a different shade of purple (slightly more blueish) from the SS one which I am now in the process of deflocking (half her horn is gone, don't want flocking in the way of sculpting her a new one). I've probably spent 2 hours comparing and researching by now and I got nothing.  :| Help?

Non-flocked, non-glittery Gusty is the UK NSS version. Scandi Gusty has green eyes (as opposed to blue-ish) and glittery symbols.

Thanks for the comparison pics of Truly, I get the difference there now, but am still puzzling over the UK NSS's... LOL!

Yes she was part of the "Movie Stars" set which actually got a pretty wide Euro release. It includes the NSS Shady, North Star, Buttons, Magic Star [in alternate pose] and Wind Whistler as well.

Hhm, the eyeliner thing confuses me, because of my NSS Shady who (to me) had thick black eyeliner, but she was definitely NOT a de-flock (I had her since I was a child). Or is the SS eyeliner even thicker?

Whippy your Shady is normal, mine is the same and I've had her since childhood.

Truly and Cupcake have dark greyish brown eyeliner rather than black :) the so soft Truly and Cupcake bath have black eyeliner ;)

Are Truly and Cupcake the only two who fall in this category of... NSS Scandinavians?

Just trying to get a list of the ponies in this group.

I will admit I find the releases hard to get my head round since certain ponies were released more than once and in different sets

There was the "my little pony" year six set

http://www.etherella.com/scrapbook2/1986_mylittlepony.htm

The "my little pony" set with cupcake and truly year six

http://www.etherella.com/scrapbook2/truly.htm

"My little pony" set year seven, this set is some times referred to as the movie star or cine star set.

This thread talks a little more about other Scandinavian releases :)

Your Shady will be from the Movie Stars set; the Shady which came in the same set with Truly and Cupcake also has the softer eyeliner :)
