Anyone else see the giant G1 light up pony on ebay UK?

Here - quoting some of the picts from the TP:

I don't live too far from Blackpool so I headed down to see them in person It was really cool, the big ones are huge and I got to see one of two of the big tableaus - that was unbelievably huge! Some were on display, others were in a warehouse.
 
Interesting to note - there is a unicorn Baby Cuddles and an earth Baby Ribbon. I'm not sure who the baby pony is next to Baby Shady - Baby Magic Star? The Princesses has nice details such as strands in their hair lit up like tinsel and their symbols lit up too. The eyes of the Twinkle Eyes lit up too, obviously!
 
Pricewise, I was told the adult ponies were $600, the babies $300, Baby Tiddley-Winks was $150 as she was a bit smaller, Pookiepup correct me if I'm wrong on that! Prickles the dragon was also $150, and I was tempted as he was the smallest and could be stored in a collection easily. Overall I thought the prices weren't too bad for collectors, and local delivery was $80.
 
The woman who went into the warehouse before me bought Baby Shady and Baby Magic Star (?), the guide told me she is a Brownie leader (young girl scouts) and that she is going to keep it in her house and invite the girls round to see it, which i thought was really sweet. Erm, I think that's all the info, onto the pics!

:O This is the first I have seen of heard of them. Holy batman!!! They are absolutely stunning! I love their molds! And the detail is amazing, the smaller North Star (?) on the display piece looks like it even has real hair because the detailing looks so good.  I would give anything to have one, imagine if we pooled our money together just to get a few for the MLP fair.

I am so incredibly tempted to use my student loan money to buy it and haul it back to Germany, but I live in the US, how would I ever get it overseas?? >< Not to mention that is an unethical use of my loan money :x but like I said, I think I'd do just about anything for one... :>

I remember when these girls came up for sale the first time - they largely didnt sell well, although the UK PonyCon own one. I guess someone perhaps picked up a job lot! The problem the first time was a general lack of notice for collectors and of course transportation.

Its common for the Blackpool Illuminations to be sold off in batches as things go out of style or are retired for new designs. Hopefully collectors will have more luck this time around!

That's just made me sad, because I really want it, as a lot of other collectors will,
but at 8ft tall it won't fit in a door and ergo won't go into a house,
Most people don't have storage space to keep it and they're probably doomed to rot away as a gimmick outside some shop or attraction, without the respect they deserve

I wish I'd been able to see the display all lit up live and in person.  That must have been amazing.

What I wouldn't give to be living in England right now!  Lucky pony lovers who get those for certain sure!  Really neat photos.

Someone mentioned pooling money to purchase one or both.  I would actually be willing to contribute.  I would like to see these go into the collecting community somehow, whether they're owned by one collector or the community in general.  It would be a shame for them be sold as an unappreciated sideshow gimmick, where they'll deteriorate without proper care.  Is anyone else interested in starting a pool?  Suggestions for where they could be stored?  Pool even more money to have them shipped to the US?

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions???
