Wanted! / Re: Looking for G1 accessoires and play sets
« on: April 07, 2021, 06:16:44 AM »
Quick question: I'm looking for some Breyer horses. Is it okay to add this to my first post or is there a specific place for non-MLP stuff one hopes to find?

Oh well, time flies when you're having ... no fun. In the meantime we moved, I arranged the displays for the ponies, started working, stopped working due to a positive Corona testing result which hit me and the younger kid, now we're still in quarantine, but slowly recovering. I hope I'll find the time to take some pictures and show them to you. Right now the kids are allowed to play with some of the ponies to get over the situation and the displays are kind of messy again.

Take care of yourselves!

The past days were fun and a bit like Christmas early. Four packages arrived, from the Netherlands, Germany, Finland and the US, and brought lots of ponys and stuff from my wish list, especially some cute BBE babies. :green: And something strange happened tonight. I was ordering some stuff for the new house and a birthday present from Amazon and somehow ... I really don't know how it happened ...  a re-released Gusty jumped into my shopping cart and wanted to become my Christmas present. Isn't this scary?  :scared:

Pony Corral / Re: 20 questions for collectors!
« on: November 23, 2020, 04:47:24 AM »
1. What got you into collecting MLP?
Trying to get back some of the warm and fuzzy feeling from my childhood days... plus, my kid loves the FiM show, so we have something just for us.

2. Did you like MLP as a child?
You could have considered me Megan's lost sister ...  I lived in Ponyland when I was little. I even made up my own language, Ponyguesian. :lookround:

3. What generations do you collect?
G1 (although there is one G4 Rarity I bought on vacation in Danmark this summer)

4. Who is your favorite pony?
Please, that is like choosing a favorite kid.

5. Who was your first pony?
Glitzi (Sparkler) in 1986

6. Who was the last pony you got?
As a collector, it was Masquerade, a few days ago. As a child, I would have to check the Pony Mami Passport. (Did I mention, I was REALLY into Ponies? )

7. What is your favorite generation?
G1 and G4 FiM

8. What is your favorite piece of media? (Any of the shows, comics, back cards, etc)
My kid is watching FiM, I like that. But my alltime favorite is the 1986 movie, the one with the Smooze.

9. What is your favorite pose?
Gusty and Baby Glory, I guess. But I can't really choose. Most of the common G1 poses.

10. Do you own any customs / have you made one?
No.

11. Who is your biggest pony? Smallest?
My Pretty Pony, if it counts. If not, I guess, it's Wigwam. Or Colormist? Smallest are Little Honey Honey Pie and Little Whiskers.

12. How many ponies do you have in your collection?
About 80. Official re-count after my moving.

13. How is your collection displayed?
Showcases from Ikea. Soon in our guest room aka my work space.

14. What is your least favorite pose?
I'm not really into the rare internationals.

15. What is your dream collection like?
My own collection is pretty much my dream collection. I bought some ponies/poses I wanted to add to complete the common poses list recently, and my dream would be a Paradise Estate (can't afford that at the moment, will try again next year ...) and a Baby Bonnet School of Dance. Evereything else, playsets, pony wear, individual ponies, accessoires would be a nice addition, but not a must.

16. What was your biggest pony purchase (in terms of how many items)?
Two ponies oder several pony wear sets on family vacation in the Netherlands or Danmark in my childhood come to mind. As an adult collector, I just bought 3 ponies at once and am waiting on some accessoires. But I've never really counted.

17. What is your favorite part about collecting?
Brings back memories from good times and events and beloved ones. I need that sometimes.

18. What is your favorite pony website?
ponylande.de helped me a lot when I got back my ponies from the attic.

19. What flaw(s) can you not stand?
Bite marks, stinky ponies (cigarettes especially), doodled ones.

20. How complete is your collection?
For my taste, it's nearly complete (see "dream collection"). 95%, I'd say.

Thanks, this was fun!

Off Topic / Digital snails
« on: November 20, 2020, 10:51:11 AM »
Apparently, even snails adopted a digital lifestyle during the pandemic. I received two e-mails today. Sent on November 9th, the other on Nov 12th. So, it's digital snail mail? Or did they first try to deliver it to the 80s, since it was about some G1 ponies I wanted to buy? My spam filter is usually reliable - Outlook had no problem with my other web.de accounts it is collecting.

If you try to send me an e-mail and wonder why I'm not answering - it's probably the snails. Sorry.  :sheepish:

Thanks! It will be amazing and I'm looking forward to share it with you all.

Building a house is such a mess. Nothing works properly, a lot of information gets lost on the way and the money is flying right out the door ...  To be honest, the outlook of having my collection surround me when I work at some point, is the silver lining. It's getting me through the day at the moment.

Pony Brag Arena / Re: Cotton Candy +Baby
« on: November 15, 2020, 03:56:59 AM »
So cute! They are adorable together.  :lovey:

And I can totally understand you: Baby Cotton Candy was my first Baby Pony and I loved her so much. I never had the adult Cotton Candy, so she was Posey's and Trickles's kid.

Pony Brag Arena / Soon: My little Ponyland aka guest room and work space
« on: November 15, 2020, 03:25:23 AM »
My Ponies are finally getting a place they deserve! We are moving to a new place where I will finally have my room and display my MLP collection and my Breyers. The horses and the display cases had to move to a storage room in the attic when we had the kids and I had to move my work space from a comfortable room to literally a laptop on my knees.  >_<

The house is not completely done yet, but I'm sooo excited to share some pictures of my childhood ponies with people who can understand me.  :silly: It's also the designated guest room and new work space - I guess work meetings via Skype or Zoom will make me either VERY popular or have the guys with the giant butterfly nets pay me a visit. Maybe I should simply learn how to use a neutral background.

I made an introduction years ago (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,359851.0.html) and a new one recently (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,400010.0.html), but this topic here will be the place to stay.

Pictures will follow asap, but right now, ponyland is packed away and waiting for the movers.

Feel free to comment, be excited with me or visit my "Wanted!" list (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,359915.0.html).

Best regards,

Simone

:relaxed:

Yeah, well, to come back to "not collecting" - I just spend some money on several ponies.  :lookround: But I looked at the list of my ponies and my inner Monk was revolting: If it was only possible to have a pony from every (okay, I negotiated him down to "nearly every" and "the most known") G1 pose ... Universe was obviously having a field day and so I found a lot of those missing pieces in the past days. Some in Germany via mailing list I subscribed years ago which happened to pop up with some of the ponys I was interested in, some over the arena. I am so looking forward to move to our new place and put all the little darlings on shelves for everyone (and me, of course!) to see.

Guess I will show you the new arrivals as soon as the mail carrier moves his finger towards the door bell.

For Sale - For Auction / Re: Downsizing, all gens

I've PMed you about an addition (found another pony I'd like to adopt) - if you could just check, I'll send the payment.

Wanted! / Re: Dreaming of some G1 stuff

I found something else. It's only to calm down the inner "Monk" - because in my collection there are some Pony poses missing  :stunned: . But this really depends on the offered pony - if I like them, I'm happy to add, if I don't, I'd have to deal with Monk in another way ...  :sly:

I missed the story, but I googled the horse. Boy, what is wrong with him?

Ohlookyhere, this one is also still alive.

I've updated a bit.

Introductions / I'm back!
« on: November 03, 2020, 07:09:43 AM »
Hello there, I'm back!  :newpony:

A lot has changed in the past years, my Ponys have been living in a little storage room in the attic, but all in neat displays, I just hadn't have the time to visit as often as I wanted to. But this is all in the past, I hope. Ponyland is packed up in moving boxes once again, but this time they will move to another house soon and will find their place in my guest/work space.

I found my old thread, but it is closed and all pictures are gone, but I promise to provide you with new ones, once they are all set up neat and tidy.

This is still my collection: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,359851.msg1259829.html#msg1259829
I managed to update some things, found Pony Wear, Baby furniture and adopted a So Soft Shady and her BBE Baby plus I gave my daughter a beautiful Whizzer last year. So much for "I am not collecting". It's a trap. :lookround:

I am looking forward to spend more time in here. See you soon,

Simone aka Glitzi86  :awake:
