Funnily enough I haven't actually styled the hair - Only combed out the tangles. The curls in there are the factory curls they're sent out with. What I did was use plain, non perfumed soap and hot running water, separated the worst of the knots with fingers and combed out the tangles (carefully, otherwise the hair stretches and snaps. It takes a bit of time). A little towel and time on a radiator later.. and the hair falls naturally. I try to avoid doing boil perms as it can look sort of artificial and forced if the hair is tensioned wrongly. If you don't mind being platonically intimate with your ponies, the easiest way to do it is in the shower, as that saves hunching over a sink.
