Who are the twinkle eyed ponies?

I've been reading a fan fiction involving them, but were they in the TV show?

Twinkle-eyed ponies belongs to the G1 (Fizzy, Masquerade,  Galaxy, and that troupe...), and yep, appeared on the Tv show too, some of the most beloved and popular G1 ponies pertain at that group.

They are reconocible very easily for their gems incrusted on their eyes.

Yes they all got some tv time Fizzy and Sweet Stuff appear in the movie and the others from the first set also popped up the &Friends tv show along with them. Locket made quite a few appearances in the show and Mimic of course starred in the Golden Horseshoes episode.

I love the old UK origin story:  where the TEs were slaves of an evil wizard and, after years of mining gems in dark caves, they regained their sight with the magic of twinkle eyes.  Such a wretched story that I just love it (and the TE ponies) to bits ^_^

Masquerade had some of my favourite scenes in the cartoon as a kid. Masquerade was often 'but this is a terrible idea' and another pony would go 'pleeease' and the next scene Masquerade would be in a costume wrestling giant crabs or something.
