I never had a problem with Munchy's symbols. That is what makes her unique. If shes eating veggie or animal hot dogs it does not matter really.

I think Munchy is super cute!  I like her color combo and symbols!  I have a friend who freaked out when she found out a pony with hot dogs existed, and was thinking about hunting one down, until I showed her that she could be a bit pricey...

I've always been in the "soy-based vegetarian product" boat, but I like the magic idea too. It would make more sense in-universe.

They're veggie hot dogs    I'm more freaked out by Donald Duck eating chicken and turkey.  And that he wears no pants.

I'm more freaked out that Goofy and Pluto are dogs in the same universe but Goofy is like a normal human and Pluto is like a normal dog. Fr-eak-y!

She always makes me think of our local ice cream stand... the overhead sign originally used to have a hotdog.... and overtime it was morphed into a banana split, lol (so they didn't have to get a whole new sign)
