Anyone else wish Twinkle Eyed ponies.....

They do take some getting used to, but I do think they look better on the toys than in the artwork and episodes. I don't think Mimic would have the same appeal if she were a normal pony, except being a green unicorn. Thank you for sharing that comic, Heliodor! >w<

I wish more normal ponies had twinkle eyes. I love the empty soulless look of the gem eyes. They look like glass eyes to me. I think the fact that they don't have pupils is the best part.

I agree that their eyes look weird, but on the other hand, I love almost all of them, heh heh. No clue if Hasbro just happened to create a bunch of my favorite characters in the TE line or if the gems attract me in some strange way...

I love the Twinkle Eyes because of the spooky-magical factor, too. They're one of my favourite sets... I have 7 and want to get the others eventually. I'd still love them for their colors and designs if they had regular eyes, but the TEs add something special and weird! The iridescent eye coating is pretty enough in person, but then when you take their photo, the flash makes them glow in such a bizarre and awesome way. 

That origin story from the comic is SO creepy. It's great.

I'm not sure I'd /prefer/ it, but I'd love to see them without the twinkle eyes as well. (Has anyone made one of these? A TE in it's original pose/colouring, without the gem eyes..?) I have to agree with Zombelina.. The origin of TEs is hilariously creepy.

I think G2 did it better, personally. The tiny little gems in their eyes were fetching. <3 TE look very strange to me... especially looking at them straight on. Nonetheless, I've grown to like them... which is funny because a few months ago I didn't like GI *at all*.

Not really, I adore twinkle eyes mostly for their eyes. Mainly because regular G1 eyes have always creeped me out, how their eyes are placed and shaped like a horse's anatomically, but they're stylized to look 'feminine' and human as well as being sort of sideways D:

The TEs avoid this very neatly and I looove how otherwordly they look while still being very 'pony' <3

I personally, even though my favourite pony is Fizzy, dont like the TE eyes. The story behind that is sooo cute, but those eyes really do look more like insect eyes to me. It would be great if the jewels would be flat and not so huge.

I love the characters, I adore the bonkers story about how they became to be TEs, and I love the way they look One day I will have every G1 pony as a TE... *rubs hands together and stalks customs board*

I love the TEs...but then I love the variety that the different sets brought to G1...it would be kind of boring [i.e. G4 lol!] if all the ponies were the same - but some have different types of eyes, some have different types of coats, some have different lengths of hair and so on! I love it and the TEs are really unique for me!

Well, Sweet Stuff is from my childhood herd - so I guess I never thought she was weird as a kid. No, can't say they bother me. I just like to use Sweetstuff with regular green eyes for my siggy - as I've kinda morphed our personalities over the years.

TE ponies can sometimes look possessed head-on, but overall I love 'em, even if I prefer the original eyes.
It's mainly the colour schemes from the set that attract me, there are some real lookers in there. x3
Twinkies look really magical & other-worldly in the animation, it adds a nice charm.
Bright Eyes is the only TE I own right now, but I'd quite like to get more in the future.
