The intrepid travels of Lily
« on: November 03, 2015, 01:24:26 PM »
I have recently been far too naughty in the world of UK related pony paraphernalia, but this is happily not one of those examples.

At Ponycon, I bought flutter pony Lily from Marco. She is in her UK release box, and although she's been displayed, all her stuff is there (ribbon, comb, puffy sticker, insert, mail in flier, inlay) and basically untouched except for her. Lily was one of the flutters I didn't have anything for, including wings, so I snapped her up.

First set flutters are notoriously delicate, and Lily was only sold as a first set flutter in the UK, so those wings...rather worried me.

This Lily has serious guts, though. Not only did she survive the rest of Saturday at ponycon, a trip to Caffe Nero with LadyG and Magick (in which she got knocked over under the table at least once) and a train journey back from Leicester to St Pancras, yesterday she completed the final and scariest part of her journey so far - to join the rest of my collection at my family home.

The train was really rattly, and I was so worried about her wings. BUT, she made it.

And now, as I have a camera and my dad's cable, here she is with her new friends in her new permanent home atop my bookcase.

I think she's happy to finally stop moving!

Thanks for selling her to me, Marco - I still think she's lovely.

Phew!  Thank goodness she got home with her wings in-tact.  What a lovely pony to add to your collection.  Congrats :frolic:

Congrats :) its a shame flutters are so delicate as they look so pretty when they are boxed up with their wings .

I totally agree. I only ever meant to get Tropi in her box as my childhood flutter but I really think the box is their best and safest display space even if, like lily, they have been taken out. I like summer and windy wings but flutters always win with me.

Thankyou all for the kind comments...it occurs she must have done a scary trip from Italy to even get to ponycon so her current state is really quite a miracle.

Wow, what a beautiful collection! Nice that Lily proved sturdy enough to travel by train.

Congratulations. Just looking at those wings already tell me how fragile they could be.

Gorgeous girls so jelly over Lily  I have a weakness for UK boxed flutters, the packaging is so much prettier & I love the puffy stickers!

Congrats on Lily! I'm glad her wings survived the ride home.

Also, is that an MIB Glow I spy on your shelf? So jealous!! Glow is one of my favorite ponies.

Yep, it is - I have Glow and Buzzer MIB, as they are the two Summer Wings I wanted as a kid but never got. Although Glow came from the US and Buzzer the UK they have the same box so I am assuming it was the same all over xD. I agree that Glow is a really pretty pony, too - especially with that pink hair!

Happy to see that Lily made it home in one piece. :)

I love all the ponies in that picture, but my favorite is definitely Tropical Breeze. She has that whole red hair blue body thing that I think looks awesome. :)
