WTH Ebay!?!?

I lost my Top rated seller status because one person marked down my "item as described" star thing (instead of talking to me about it). I still have a 100% for feedback with 5/5 for all the other stars and 4.9/5.0 for the item as described...but still lost my seller status. Now ebay is holding my funds again like i am some new seller! So they are waiting for my items to be delivered before giving me my money!!!

Wow, that is so harsh! I think a lot of buyers don't realize the effect of leaving fewer than 5 stars.

That completely sucks, the thing is though just one low mark is not going to cause you to lose your status. There has to be something else that was factored in.

Have you checked your Seller Dashboard to make sure you are meeting all your requirements?

*nods*  either that or ebay has done a big stuff up again (which also wouldnt surprise me!)   *sigh* 
they shouldnt be holding funds like that over one low(ish) mark. its not like it was a one star rating and a case opened and all that ..

I looked at the seller dashboard and it said that there was only one low mark. It says that was the only thing that was not met was the seller rating. I met for everything else. 
I have 100% feedback and have met their sale requirements...

Ahhh...I was thinking you had more than 347 feedbacks. The requirements change once you hit the 400 mark. They then use a 3 month evaluation period so one bad rating would not have affected you so quickly. For all other sellers, the time period for evaluation is the most recent twelve calendar months.

hmm...ok. Still feels kind of silly to hold my funds as I have 100% feedback and have never had issues...

That stinks-  it doesn't surprise me though.  I don't think buyers understand sometimes that just a 4/5 stars does NOT mean "satisfactory" but really means "unsatisfactory" for the purpose of the ebay rating system-

*hugs* so sorry    ebay has made me feel bullied as a seller lately. i can seriously see why i dont see a whole of choice anymore (not as much as there used to be.)  because all the sellers are being nickel and dimed feedback wise to death!  and we cant even have the recourse to leave appropriate feedback for buyers...

Well, I called ebay and they told me they were unable to do anything because of at that time I was "under-rated" and was considered a "sub-standard seller"...
I kind of went off on the poor lady (I did apologize as it was not her fault) saying that I did not understand how that could be possible if I met for all the qualifications for a regular good seller and had a 4.5 out 5.0 stars on item description, a 5.0 on all others and 100% feedback. I actually got my High rated seller back within 2 weeks of this happening, and told the lady on the phone that it really makes no sense that I would be "sub-standard" then top rated within that time period. She told me "don't worry, your top rated now". I then asked if I should expect this same kind of thing if one person ever marked me down again, because it was only one person who marked me low...she did not have an answer for me on that...

Like I mentioned before I believe it has to do with the number of feedbacks you have, unfortunately. If you had 400+ it would put you into a different category rating, and you would have been fine taking a hit.

The plus side is you can build it back up quickly though. I know it sucks but hang in there, you'll have your rating back before you know it.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that! Ebay has gotten so strict about selling, even one bad buyer can ruin years of a sellers feedback, I hate it so much!

I've gotten dinged and had ebay hold my funds as well, but it should go back to normal after a little while if you keep selling. I wish ebay weren't such a pain in the butt about everything.

The restrictions are for a lot of reasons from not enough sold items/ not enough ratings, etc. I was selling in September and in November and everything had been okay and then bam, ebay is holding my funds as well. The most amusing thing is I know few people already got their items and they're happy with them and I'm still out of money.
