I have had the following four ponies in a bag to return to Target for... years. I keep thinking maybe someone would want them but not getting around to asking. Is there any interest here in mint-on-card Playful Ponies: Diamond Rose, Twinkleshine, Honeybuzz and/or mint-on-card Crystal Princess Celebration: Sunset Shimmer?

I won two auctions from a seller who advertises "Free Shipping" on their auctions. However, in the description it actually reads: "FREE SHIPPING IS FOR ANY ITEM SOLD FOR OVER $15 OR ANY GROUP OF ITEMS THAT TOTALS $100 OR MORE THAT ARE SHIPPED TO A UNITED STATES ADDRESS. YOU MUST LET US KNOW THE ITEMS THAT YOU ARE PURCHASING FOR THE CUMMULATIVE FREE SHIPPING OFFER. otherwise, the shipping IN THE UNITED STATES is a flat fee of $4 for the first item and $1 for each additional item. International shipping is flat fee of $10 per item."

Okay, that's weird, right? I've had people offer free or reduced shipping if you purchase a certain amount or if you buy so many items but the listings themselves, individually, have the shipping costs included. That way if you win auctions you ask for a combined invoice and then pay the reduced or free shipping. Easy peasy. Now I've paid for two auctions and just now received an email (in my spam folder) saying I owe $4 shipping (nothing about the auction I won ten days ago).

This feels off to me. He just told me "You have a $4 shipping charge.  Please pay by PayPal" If I just send him money through PayPal, unconnected to an auction, I'm not protected at all, am I? I don't know if he sent a similar email about the last auction and it got lost in my spam folder too. So now I have two auctions that ebay and Paypal say I paid for quickly and completely but which may never be shipped because the seller is telling me I need to pay shipping. What are my options at this point?

Maybe this has been mentioned before but I just got Volume 4 of the IDW Friends Forever trade paperback for Christmas and Rarity is wearing the Great Skates outfit from G1 on the cover! Flashbacks to dressing my Glory in that outfit. I think my sister still has it because we loved that pony wear. My guess is artist Amy Mebberson liked it too. :)

Here's a link to the cover: https://www.idwpublishing.com/product/my-little-pony-friends-forever-vol-4/

Pony Brag Arena / skyrocketneko helps my very first pony look lovely
« on: February 11, 2014, 02:21:42 PM »
I received Glory when I was probably six years old, maybe seven.  I loved her and played with her in the no holds barred way that young children do.  I can't even remember all the adventures she went on, the furniture she regally scaled and the spa days (minus conditioner cringe) she was treated to.  Her symbol was entirely loved right off, on both sides.  Her tail was a frizzy mess.  Her horn has a reddish mark on the end and her symbol, on both sides, was replaced with one as well.

After I had been on the Arena for a while I decided to take it upon myself to bring Glory's past glory back.   I sunfaded her in my window for about a year.  I conditioned her tail again and again during the same span of time.  Glory got quite white, the red marks never went away entirely but the ones on her sides were very faint indeed.  Her tail however... it needed extra help.  So, late last month when skyrocketneko had a pony gathering I brought Glory along in the hopes that someone with better skills than I might lend a hand in her transformation.

My secret wish came true!  skyrocketneko was a woman on a mission.  She conditioned and ironed that tail, she boiled it, she started over again.  She also had the perfect glitter and a steady hand and recreated Glory's symbol beautifully.  So now I can present to the world my well loved and still radiant Glory:

Pony Brag Arena / Belated birthday swap with pinkaurora
« on: February 03, 2014, 09:00:54 PM »
I share a September birthday with pinkaurora and we planned a private birthday swap.  Then things got crazy at work after the floods in Colorado and I was out of contact for a long time.  Despite this pinkaurora kindly kept my box waiting for me.  I want to show everyone what a great swap partner pinkaurora is and let them see what she patiently kept for me!

In our first swap together pinkaurora sent me the sweetest Kitty Cucumber paper dolls.  I mentioned how I loved the character and look what pinkaurora found for me this time around!  I didn't even know there were books!

And now the reason you are all here... the ponies!

Daffodils are one of my favorite flowers and how can you not love a pony that comes to you with the message: "I am not perfect but could you love me anyway?"

Such a pretty, pretty Sugarberry!  She told me, "I am berry excited to join your herd!"  I am just as excited to have you!

And here's a look at all my goodies!

I mistakenly selected seller instead of buyer when leaving feedback just now for 3377345.  Is there any way to edit that?  I am so very sorry!  Thank you!

Pony Corral / Mommy charm discoloration
« on: June 09, 2013, 08:20:42 PM »
I recently stumbled upon four Mommy charms (Curtain Call, Sweet Tune, Yours Too and Morning Sunshine) that I had tucked away in a box and was saddened to see that all four had some significant discoloration.  Is this common with the charms?  Is there any way to restore them?

Customs / Conditioning pony hair
« on: October 10, 2012, 10:34:57 PM »
I have seen some amazing restorations of pony hair on here and most everyone attributes it to conditioning (amongst other treatments).  So, since my Glory has been with me since 1984 or so and has the frizzy tail of the well-loved, I've been thinking of trying to condition her tail.  The thing is I'm a tree-hugger and the only conditioner I use is Aubrey Organics.  I'm concerned that the silicone and such that I don't want on my hair is exactly what pony hair needs.  Has anyone tried conditioning pony hair with an all natural conditioner or should I go pick up some Suave or something for this project?

Pony Brag Arena / Royal Ball at Canterlot Castle on Clearance
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:33:21 PM »
Yesterday I was at Target and in poking around for pony fun I came upon the last "Royal Ball at Canterlot Castle" set and found it was on clearance for 50% off.  Now I've seen this set a number of times before and never purchased it because I think the eyes and hair are off and the dresses/capes leave something to be desired but as I looked at it last night I realized every pony was wearing a crown.  The crown and the damsel hat that came with the Dream Castle (and later the one with Princess Tiffany) were the most highly sought after accessories my sister and I owned.  If your pony got to wear the crown... it was super special.  So I bought it.  I bought the whole set with it's tinsel hair and silly capes for the knowledge that I would now own six crowns... and Spike.  Silly?

Introductions / Hello everyone!
« on: September 16, 2012, 02:50:07 PM »
I'm a 34 year old from Colorado (USA).  I pay the bills as an administrative assistant with the Water Quality Control Division so if you want to discus how totally amazing good tap water is, I'm your girl!

I'm happily married to a man who is planning my 35th birthday party next weekend and independently decided to make it Pony themed (so many party goods!).  He then decided there would be six activities based on the six main ponies in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (which he watches with me along with Jem and Ruby Gloom just as I watch Silver Surfer, The Avengers and Full Metal Alchemist with him).  Yesterday he was sharing with me the questions he has created for Twilight Sparkle's trivia game.  I didn't know the answer to about half of the questions!  I had to add some of my own to make it easier for our guests.  We also each brought a cat to the marriage.  (Mine is quite a bit like Rarity's Opal.)

I've been collecting since 1983 or maybe 1984.  I received Glory and my sister got Moondancer.  By the early 90s my sister and I had amassed a collection of around 120 ponies and 7 buildings.  When we moved at 14 years of age for me and 12 for her we gave most of them to the little girls in our neighborhood.  I know, it severely pains me to type that at this juncture in my life.  We kept our favorites and our firsts and some of the adorable goods (our favorite game was "mall" where we laid out all the goods and set up households) in the Lullaby Nursery.

Since then I bought two MLP key chains in Japan -- where I was living when the 80s returned; I then bought Silly Sunshine in a fit of nostalgia; and then my mom bought me a My Little Pony Magnetic Travel Play Set, a Pinkie Pie Play Doh stamp with pink "Doh" as well as an Easter Cheerilee from 2009 with the bunny ears because she used to always buy us Ponies for every occasion (she's getting nostalgic too).

That's where I was until I decided to watch MLP FIM since it showed up on Netflix.  Now my loving husband has sorted through boxes of blind bags with me in search of "cool ones," I own a Gen4 Rarity (I do still like the "original" pony toys more) and stickers and a coloring book and a Busy Book and then this party -- I'm full on eight years old again!  What fun!

I like all the pony goods I've seen save what I believe is called Gen 3.5 when they left behind the look I recognized for a Littlest Pet Shop look that just looked wrong to my elderly eye.  It took me a while to warm up to the Gen 4 ponies after that because they did look different although not so extreme but I love them now too.  What I'm getting at is that anything that has a MLP logo on it gets at least a cursory examination from me.

I still probably have the greatest love for the classics but I also have to sadly admit that poor Glory who I at some point decided needed rouge applied to the end of her horn as well as applied in lieu of her worn off star will never again look as lovely as Rarity.  So there's nostalgia for the old but appreciation for the un-child-loved pristine condition of the new too.  I guess that's what drives my collecting.

I think that's plenty about my collection although I could go on and on because so few people care to hear and if not shared here, where can it be shared?  :P
