Hey guys! I'm a huge Gusty fan and my one and only army is of Gusty. :) I actually just recently discovered the MLP wiki and found that they don't have the Gusty with blue leaves listed. She's just another UK version, right? I've had mine for many years and bought her as "UK Gusty". Just a few years ago I purchased another "UK Gusty" from someone without a picture. I was expecting another one with blue leaves, but she had purple non-glittery leaves (this is the one on wiki, and the one I usually see when someone has a UK Gusty for sale). I was really surprised by the different leaf color, but also happy that I had accidentally gotten another version of Gusty for my slowly growing army.

Anyway, just wanted to get more info on the blue leaves girl. Is she worth the same as the purple one? Just curious.

Old pics, but you can see them both next to each other in the middle of this pic:

And another old pic of blue leaves girl:

Thanks for any help! Just trying to learn more about my collection. ^-^

I know sometimes the pink pigment in purple paint can fade out (usually due to sun exposure), leaving the blue pigment behind. This happens a lot with the pony Scoops.   I'm not sure if that's what's happening with your Gusty, but hopefully other's can be more helpful :)

I agree with ashlyne, I think that the blue leaves is simply a faded version of the purple leaves.  I've seen a UK Gusty before with half-blue, half-purple leaves in a line across the symbol, as if sunlight had hit the same spot for a long time :)

That's what I was going to say as well, I actually have a TAF Scoops who is completely blue and not purple, as well as a Daddy Sweet Celebrations who's now blue and teal. And a Rainbow Curl Streaky who's teal streak on one is 100% blue on the other...

It's an amazing variation though to see it on her and being SO BLUE. Amazing! :dropjaw:

Count me as another vote for fading. She looks gorgeous with it, though!

She looks awesome :)

But as others have said its a red pigment thing - you see it in Scoops, as ashyne says, as well as Baby Crumpet and many ponies whose purple eyes become blue over time.

Yep, I just got a Nightglider with the same thing... I couldn't for the life of me figure out why she looked so different to mine.. until I compared them - her purple had faded to blue! So different-looking, but it looks really even and factory.

From working in the sign industry I learned just colorfast some colors where and how bad others where.  Anything with red is gonna fade if exposed to enough sun.  She is very pretty.

Hopscotch's symbols and eyes are another one. I thought I had a variant blue one on my hands for awhile, but nope!  I think Lemon Drops symbols can do this too, although there are a lot of legitimate variants of her, it's really hard to tell!

Gusty looks really pretty like that!

I have a Minty with blue clovers...looks really cool. I know it's just some kind of fading/discolouration but I like to pretend its a super rare variant. :P

Thanks everyone! She is just as important to The Army as she ever was, but good to know she is just faded. I had been tempted recently to try and find another of the "blue leaves variant". ;)
