I was looking at my FF Cotton Candy today and she has pink spots instead of white. I guess she's just faded?

Pictures? Maybe some naughty kid colored every white spot with a pink marker...

Here are the pics. The first one is after she arrived at my home.

I know they look pretty white in that pic, but here is the pic  I took today. The sopts are the same color as Peachy's pink hearts I think.

I can't tell the colour from the pics, but maybe leeched dye from the pony itself?

I know white paint can discolor after time, perhaps it is that? I've seen white anything on toys age weird colors from yellow, to cream, and even like a green or grayish color. The pony in the bottom picture looks very aged like she was well played with, but its always possible maybe they were colored with marker.

Thanks everyone. I don't think it's marker because only the spots are pink. I don't think a child could have colored them in that precisely. I probably took the first picture with the flash on, The bottom picture was taken with my phone without flash.

Could also be the symbol paint is thin, and some of her body color is showing through. Don't necessarily rule out paint/marker either - sometimes odd things happen, like it was washed off quickly but stained the paint and not the pony.  Different surfaces will have different reactions to various dyes.

Bumping this up just in case anyone else has any other ideas about why she has pink spots?

My other thought is the red pigment is leaching out. It's unstable at times. Purple ponies are usually more prone to having it bleed. You may not feel it on your hands, but if you wipe the pony down whatever you're wiping with turns red.

Thanks mlp4me. :) I think everyone that mentioned it being dye/pigment is right. I just tried wiping her off with a dry Kleenex and noticed there are several areas of pink/ light red on her although her overall color is very light pink.

I believe the spots on FF Cotton Candy are supposed to be faint pink.  I've never come across a FF Cotton Candy with white spots.

That's really interesting. :) I always assumed they were supposed to be white like the CC Cotton Candy. She's my only Flat Foot Pony.

Yup, the pigment comes off really easy and sometimes is a very noticeable change to the entire body color once you do remove the bleed. I've had 2 bright eyes, both obviously red from the pigment bleed (and after a few wipe downs they started to look better). Definitely is becoming a more known issue...

Ohhh, interesting!  That would make sense, in a way . . . All the other Collector ponies have symbols that match their body or hair color.
