Is there anything that can be done for poor Tornado?

I got this boy in a lot with some other stuff and he's obviously had a very creative owner at some point...

I've tried everything I know but the most I've gotten is lightening the markings a teeny tiny bit using acetone. Is there anything else I can do? He's too dark to sunfade, right? Even if he can't be restored, I'll keep him as a brother for my other Tornado... just wondering if there's a pony genius here who can help my poor baby! ;3;

You could try sunfading.  I think that's your only option sadly.    Cover him *completely* w/aluminum foil except for the areas that have the marker.  Check at various intervals.  Hopefully that will help him out a bit.

Oh my.....as Cloud_Weaver says sun fading seems the best option for him...tin foil up the parts you are not fading and hope for some sun light!

i would try sunfading him

a good wash and condition should fix his hair

Make sure he's covered all the way, mane and tail included.  He's got that fading pink!  Even though it's not bright pink, you don't want it to go completely white. 

Keep us posted!  Other than that, he's lovely!  And truth be told, I kinda like that color on him.  It's a good look for him!

There was a post about using white paint to sunfade...and I think I recall another post where they used something to pull permanent marker out of the plastic?

I need to search and see if I can find it...I know someone had some success with getting marker out...

I remember someone posting that dry erase marker would do it. But you have to check what kind of dry erase marker it was, I can't remember that detail.

The paint was just to cover symbols while the rest of the body is faded (unless there was something else someone did with paint). Dry erase marker was suggested to remove other marker that was still on the surface and hadn't yet stained the plastic.

I'd do what everyone suggested already and try to sunfade. Hopefully the ink will fade before the body (and even if not, I'd personally rather have some faded marks than some pink marker)

Well actually, sunfading can fade ponies and their features if you´re not careful however, according to many threads I´ve read here, people have had a lot of luck sunfading pink markers off of ponies ^^ just be careful to cover everything you don´t want faded and GOOD LUCK!

Paint would still work in this case. It can be used to cover symbols. But if there's marks on the body that you want to fade out while not letting the light touch the rest of the pony, it can be used in the same way. It might actually work best looking at how the marks are. You'll probably want to cover MOST of the body with the tinfoil. But around the marker, I would take some paint (white, or whatever color, it honestly doesn't matter) and just get in there to make sure that you cover all the remaining untouched blue around the symbols. Otherwise, you'll probably just have a HUGE blob of faded blue. But at least this way it's very controlled what parts of the body are exposed to the light.

I've not yet had a pony to try it on in this way, but it will do the same thing!

As for the dry erase marker... I don't think it's really going to work with pink highlighter. Highlighter gets into the plastic and stains it. Rubbing alcohol can remove sharpie from painted areas without removing the original paint underneath too. I sort of feel more comfortable with that option as the rubbing alcohol is clear.   But I think in this case, the damage is already done. ;_;

Tehrin, I have your tutorial bookmarked! It's such a clever idea! ^^ I was thinking the same thing because of how fine some of the marks are, I'll let you know how it turns out. :3

I got red lipstick stains off a pony by using Oxy 10 cream on the stained bits & covering her up with foil, then sitting her in a sunny window. It took a couple of weeks & a couple of applications of the cream but it did get it out. Used the same method for ink, too.

Awwh I saw this ebay lot at was going to bid for hin, but he went out of my price range. Congrats, he is adorable, and yes try the foil sunfading, hoping he gets better xxx
