Would people have a problem with this?
« on: March 24, 2016, 11:21:29 AM »
I want to preface with, this isn't for certain, but it's come up before and I'm just looking for advice

Secondly, I'm really sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, but this seemed most appropriate.
I work for a comic book store.  We have some ponies (especially MIB/MOC ones) that have been sitting around.  Would it be an issue  for me to use my account at the Arena and, more or less, act as an agent for the store?  I'd pop up a sales thread with some things and pull those items off of the shelf, possibly rotating stock occasionally?

I know we have some collectors locally, but I'd kinda like to get this stuff out and into more happy collector hands.

Thank you for any advice and opinions.

I wouldn't have a problem with it--I think it sounds like a great opportunity for potential buyers! :)

We have had issues come up with members selling on behalf of someone else. We prefer for members to have the item personally in hand themselves. So if the items are pulled off the store shelf (meaning they can't be purchased by a store customer) that should be fine. We wouldn't want someone here to buy it only to find out it's essentially been sold out from under them in the store.

Total agreement with Kiwi. As long as there's no chance of the item being sold twice.

That's exactly the thing I was most concerned about, and why I would be very careful to see it doesn't happen.

I'd actually welcome this. I am fairly new to buying stuff from private sellers. So far I have only done that once in one of the FB groups. It would maybe feel "safer" to buy from someone doing it on behalf of a store, especially when it comes to MOC/MIB items which are usually on the pricier side!
Specifically looking for G1 with pen markings similar to this (my initials - W.S.):

Shouldn't be any problems, just insist on tracking/insurance and find out from the store how they would want to proceed in case of a claim.

Things I never would have thought of.  Thank you for the suggestion!
