Ughh no. Without going into detail, Ive been there, done that, got the bruises and the bad memories. Anything that glorifies that kind of person-destroying relationship is likely to seriously offend me.

Any ladies who want to read about it and fantasize about it, thats absolutely fine and cool, but trust me, you don't really want it.

I read that hilarious review on the first page, which has kind of made me want to read a bit, but I probably wont.

Also, dubbing this kind of nonsense "mommy porn"? Im a mommy, and just NO. No no no no no and no. Ackkkk.

That reviews hilarious. I would NEVER read this book. Its for people whom I won't say anything bad about because people on this forum have read this book but lets just say its not at my level of integrity.

Wow, did not expect these responses and so in depth! I was at first like 'seriously what's the difference between this and porn' but I'm reading the first one and initially liked the characters intereacting and I have no problem with thegraphic content either, but I don't agree with glamourizing abuse of any kind. But I guess my ultimate point is, why the hell didn't I think of writing a kinky novel and get rich off it? LOL. It seems, despite being quite repeatitive and badly written, its -still- making her dollar! Why is this , if so many folk are adverse to its contents? Thoughts? Perhaps its human nature to be curious about the darker subjects in life?

I tried to read the "Look Inside!" on Amazon, and I couldn't get through it. After the third awkward dialogue attribution I was ready to throw my computer against the wall (and it wasn't even his fault!), and I'm sorry, you can't use the phrase "ghost of a smile" twice in one chapter. Or twice ever.

I also heard that the "good" (ahem) parts are incredibly repetitive and boring, not to mention just as poorly written as the rest of the thing.

I know, this probably makes me a snob. Give me some well-written erotica (and there's so much better!) and I'll be your best friend forever. I won't touch this with a 30-ft. pole, especially after reading some of the comments here. :)

Because the book is a train wreck. You can't help but slow down and look. A lot of people are being paid to say it is great. A lot of people are band-wagoners. And a lot of people are just curious. This is one of the few times where I would findmyself advocating piracy for anyone who was curious about this book. Satisfy your curiosity without rewarding the writer for the trash.

What I don't understand is.. It is so hard to get a book published. Publishers have such high standards. HOW did this make it through the whole process?!

I think the publisher saw the potential it had to grab that Twilight crowd since it originated as a fan fic of said story.  That being said and I just don't get how the publishers didn't laugh her out the door. It's making legitimate writers in general really angry that some woman with no skill or experience gets to cash in on what's basically a rip off.

I was laughing to myself when they talked about movie casting, like why not just cast Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart! Perfect! But then I'd have to listen to more of her ugly screams and I can't do that my ears can handle no more :<

So, I keep hearing that it was/is a twilight fanfic.. Does that mean that the characters in this story are vampires? o.O

Yes, it was a Twilight fanfiction called Master of the Universe. And no, they're not vampires.

There's another Twilight fanfiction that got published. Gabriel's Inferno/Gabriel's Rapture (and I think there's another one coming) used to be University of Edward Masen.

Isn't it she wrote it as a fic, it got popular then she essentially changed names around and stuff to make it 'original' so she could publish it?

Is it weird that the fact now people are catching onto 'It was a fanfic' bugs me a bit? could be me being a bit silly but I don't want people to immediatley go 'Oh a fanfic like that fsog thing?' when her work isn't exactly the best representation of fanfic out there, fanfic already gets a pretty bad rap as it is.
I don't know, could just be the disgruntled writer in me acting up.

I know what fanfic's are, but I don't know what "fsog" is. Im just struggling to understand what made this a fanfic if it wasn;t about vampires in the Twilight setting. What are the fanfic elements and similarities?
