Hiya :)
« on: September 30, 2014, 01:54:11 AM »
Hello thar ! my names Tiffany and im 26 and I just started collecting MLPs this month .. I have to say im addicted already but feeling very overwhelmed by how many there are and the prices ive seen on eBay. I don't have very many thus far but I am focusing mainly on G1 and the rainbow/star/baby ponies and sea ponies. I go to my local thrift stores a few times a week or everyday if I can get a ride .. ( yes I don't drive LOL ) and pick up any and all that I find so if I come across any that I don't plan to keep I can post them here to trade with ! Any helpful advice or guides would be great as im looking to learn how to reroot hair and style and clean up my ponies in the safest and most affective way. I have a FB and IG and have been following a few pony collectors on there and am so jelly of their amazing collections !! I hope one day ill get there too. This place seems very warm and welcoming and I hope to meet a lot of new friends on here. I plan on trying to attend the next MLP fair too :) Thanks for welcoming me to your home !

Hi and welcome to the Arena

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed by how many ponies there are when you first start out.  Just choose a couple of favourites (or maybe sets) that you like for a start and see how you go from there.  Remember, you don't have to buy everything in the first year (although I confess I wanted to, lol!).  Enjoy the forums :D

Welcome to the Arena!

I remember feeling that way as well - I used to think there were perhaps a 100 different ponies in total...well I found out different soon enough. While its overwhelming, its also so so exciting seeing ponies you may never even heard of before :) So much fun!

I am sure you will have a good time around the forums :)

Hello and welcome!

I didn't start collecting G1's until after I started posting here on the forums regularly (I was only into G4 before that), so I'll tell you now that finding decently priced ponies here won't be too hard.  There are also some guides posted for rerooting and customizing that I found pretty helpful, since I plan on doing the same soon.  Good luck and enjoy the forums!

Hi Tiffany, welcome to the Arena! :sqs:

Sounds like a good idea to have a couple of sets or types that you're focusing on first. That way it doesn't get too overwhelming. :) Cleaning up ponies is fun, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time. Have fun browsing the forums and building up your collection!

Welcome to the arena, TiffyTime!

I was pretty overwhelmed too when I started, I tried to grab everything I could! I agree with the others on building up with sets, soon enough you'll have quite the collection going! Ebay can be pretty crazy with prices but we have all kinds of ponies for sale here to help you avoid that hassle.

:newpony: Welcome to the Arena.  Buying here is much better then buying off ebay, you can get some good prices and once you build up a rep some good trades.
