I love holiday music too
One of my all time favourite collections of holiday/Christmas music that was released is The Time Life Treasury of Christmas (that contains pretty much all of my favourite versions and the artists that sang them, I really like the classics)

Here's a breakdown of my fav's in no particular order:

Winter Wonderland/Sleighride Medley - Dolly Parton
Rockin' Around the Christmas tree - Brenda Lee
White Christmas - Bing Crosby
Carol of the Bells/Deck the Halls Medley - Robert Shaw Chorale
Jungle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms
So this is Christmas - John Lennon (This song makes me cry, so not exactly the most uplifting but I love it)

I also love fun holiday music like Christmas with the Chipmunks (Takes me back to when I was a kid)

Silent Night.  Reminds me of my mom.  I also like it paired with Night Of Silence

The two famous Charlie Brown songs. Christmastime and the theme song. Christmastime makes me sad too, but I love it.

I hate and dispise only one song (not that you asked): Christmas Shoes. It is contrived, based on a chain letter, and there is so much wrong with it that it makes me angry when I hear it.

  Ooo, some new songs and some I haven't heard in a while! I really like Bing Crosby and the classics also.  'So this is Christmas' makes me tear up too!

I just found this cute song I had not heard before, of all places on an ebay listing lol... it's called Donde Esta Santa Clause- Augie Rios

Ooh fun, I was actually planning a topic like this but didn't get round to it yet! It's funny how I'm not religious at all yet I'm totally into traditional Christian carols. I much prefer these often melancholy tunes to cheery holiday music featuring Santa & co. 

My current favourite Christmas album is Loreena McKennitt's A Midwinter Night's Dream. I can totally recommend the whole album!  But I'll try to pick a few favourites to put on my list:

And to conclude, some of my favourite Finnish carols include:

Arkihuolesi kaikki heitä (here's one performance by the group Rajaton)
En etsi valtaa, loistoa composed by Jean Sibelius (another recording by Tarja Turunen; I love Rajaton's performance as well but as an a cappella version the beautiful interlude is missing, and that's my very favourite part!)

I didn't have have any specific performances in mind for the three above, those were just the best examples I could find on youtube. But I do love Rajaton! And I used to be a huge fan of Nightwish & Tarja Turunen...

A lot more I have not heard! I sure am having fun! I wont run out of songs either! The only holiday CD I have is the Burl Ives Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. How could I forget that. There's Always Tomorrow - I've loved that song since I was a kid.
I had not heard Down In Yon Forest, that was lovely.
I love listening to music in other languages, even if I dont understand the words.
