2015 MN Pony Meet: September 5th in Bloomington! (FIRST PAGE INFO UPDATED 9/4!)

is it only g1 applejack that would be available for the contest?
the only problem with that is quite a few people won't be able to join cuz of not wanting to or not having an applejack to rehair.
i wouldn't mind making a custom of her, but i don't think i want to buy one just to rehair. mostly cuz i know i'd be stuck with her and she's not my fav pony. i love her character in both gens, but i only have the baby g1 of her in physical form.

I am hoping to finally make it back this year since I wasn't able to make it due to weddings, school and my divorce last year. Especially since due to weddings again, I will be unable to attend the CON .  I'm excited for my 3rd MN meet though as long as I get a nursing job after graduation that allows me to go. So many ifs right now *sigh*.

I am good with Applejack, and I think a rehair/redo would be fun, though I probably wouldn't participate in that. I really love Applejack for my craft idea, though!
Rosierjay brings up a good point, but I think SilverGlade mentioned that she really likes the multiple generation thing that Applejack has going on, so I think any gen of AJ would be OK. It would be fun to see her as a G3.5- she'd probably be angry to be that chunky, though! LOL!

I'm fine with AJ. I don't know that I have any I would be able to re-hair, though, so I'm more in favor of a general re-hair contest, instead of AJ-only. Maybe with what colors/textures you use compared to what the pony had and how well they work with the pony's colors?

Thanks for the feedback on crafting contests too.  I still think it would be neat to do a rehair event of some sort, but many of you think it better to broaden the rules on ponies to use.  Great idea!  I'm just brainstorming possibilities now.  What about using any gen of pony, keep their symbol and eyes etc, but limit to just one specific body color?  I'm tempted to say orange ponies for obvious reasons...

Hey MN/ND pony peeps!  I'm so glad I found this thread!  I'm always up for a pony meet in MN   Bloomington would be great!  Applejack sounds good to me for a host pony too!  I'll check with dates and then vote on one.

Applejack sounds great I'll be doing a poster again for 2015 so I will need a guest list for everyone coming! I'm not sure about the dates exactly yet, but I'm pretty sure any should work except June.

Hay Aquatic Neon! So looking forward to another poster! Last year's was sooo cute and had *all* my pets in it! Squee!

The best dates for me are mid/late August (voted for August 22). My dad is hoping to visit MN in early September I think- he wants to do the RenFest and I'm not sure what else... I hope the day does not conflict with the pony meet! If it does, perhaps I will convince him to join me at the pony meet on Saturday, and make Sunday RenFest day. He's a pony supporter... avid fleamarketer and follows my slogan "Hasbro's the way to go" when considering a colorfully plastic horse for me.

Other notes: looking forward to pony desserts, delicious potluck foods, crafts and art contests, and a massive host-pony photo shoot!

So far, the only "pony-inspired" dessert I can think of (aside from various apple dishes, of course) is that rainbow cake. I've never made one, but they look fun (and potentially messy!)

yes applejack is fine with me I can bring my Columbia applejacks for the picture and my new SA applejack when I get her. whizzer has lots of cool ones as well she has red hair Venezuelan Applejack and lots more

Thanks mngusty!  I missed you guys too!  Just so much going on the last year but I am almost done with school and am looking forward to start working, hopefully in OB.  Really hoping I can make it this year!

I can definitely do AJ...have an initially unintentional army of her lol.  Focusing just G1 AJ or all gens cause I have a bunch from G4 including plushies, G2 custom, G3 version, G1 UK, baby, regular and Vennie AJ yellow with pink hair.  I can't wait until I can put an army shelf with her together.  Oh and EqG first edition doll of AJ...good lord so many AJs.  Then again she was my first excitement related to G4 when it was announced.
