My husband and I went out to Mile High Flea Market here in Colorado today. It's 80 acres of clothes, toys, antiques and it even has a Farmer's Market. I was on the lookout for ... ponies. And hubbs was watching for pony swag.
Well, I found ponies. I found TONS of Hasbro ponies, as well as an excessive amount of fakies. The great thing about having such a small collection is that I only found a few doubles of ponies I already have. I walked out of the flea market with 3 full shopping bags, 49 ponies.
We even had a stall selling a G1 Blossom, a G 3.5 FS Pinkie Pie and a G3 FS Rarity. Unfortunately, they wanted $25 for the three ponies (after I grimaced when he quoted them for $35) and I wasn't willing to pay that for the condition they were in. So I had to pass. I actually really like the old FS ponies and I only had 2 G1s in my collection, so I was hoping he would be more willing to work with me. Oh well. He also had 3 SDCC ponies, including the Superhero/Villain pony that I really want. I was on a budget, so I passed on those. They were marked at more appropriate prices than the others, though.
All of these ponies need a go-over with a Magic Eraser and some hair TLC (one of them has a wicked haircut and will need to be re-haired). This isn't even all the ponies/fakies I found, just the best ponies and a few fakies I found early on. Overall I was really happy with the trip! I had a blast pony-hunting and I was at a couple stalls with boxes FULL of ponies/fakies and I even felt bad at one of them because a girl saw me ruffling through the ponies and she came to look with me. Ha ha! So I tried to work around her so she could take any she wanted.
Anyone else thinking these won't fit on the pony shelf? This is the setup without the new ponies.

loginIn the car on the way home I asked hubbs if he had fun (he didn't find anything he wanted to buy) and he said, "I got to watch my wife get excited, of course I had fun." This was my first Flea Market in over a decade. It was a blast!
