What is the DDG spectra variant? What's different about her?
There's supposedly a pink haired variant? But I've been staring and staring at all the ones I've seen here in Vegas, and they all just look like normal Spectra Lavender. Some seem pinkish? Until I put them up against PD Spectra and it's the same.

Whats with the Brothers Charming? One is dating Apple white and the other i don't know but didn't their father or fathers marry Snow White and Cinderella kinda deal. So not making sence in Ever After High hope it gets explained. Lol

I've been confused about this too. It really needs to be better explained because it makes no sense right now. If a lot of the daughters are the product of fairy tale moms and prince charming dads that means the princes at school can't also be sons of prince charming because then they're all related.

THIS! Gosh.. I'm so glad I am not the only one.. xD

When I heard about all this 'do exactly as your parents did' and thinking about how all their Moms married a charming I was getting this thought of Apple&Daring being siblings as well.

But.. uhm, maybe Daring is the brother of Ashlyn and the future price of Briar is the brother of Apple and so on so on. That way it, while still a very limited gene-pool, wouldn't be much worse than what most european royal families have been doing for centuries 'til they were allowed to marry 'normal' people. xD;

I think one of my favorite explanations of the Prince Charming conundrum comes from Into the Woods, where there are two princely brothers who, after rescuing their princesses, realize that they're booored without the chase, so they dump their first "true loves" and find themselves two other ones instead. Ah, quirky musicals, you amuse me.

But no, in most fairy tales the Princes are not actually named. The name Prince Charming comes from them being described as charming princes. It's one of the many reasons that Sleeping Beauty is my favorite disney movie; Prince Phillip is a detailed, developed character with a name and personality. Plus Maleficent is the beest villain ever, and I love her plan of revenge. Not no happy ending, just... waiting a century or so.

Hate it when I randomly stop getting updates on topic. Last reps I saw were page 7...

I have to say though, just from the artwork and the doll pics I am not loving this line so far, which is sad. The whole reason I learned to read was to read East of the Sun and West of the Moon (mm russian fairy tales) and the other fairy tale books my mom would read to me and my brother when we were camping.

Turning them all into puffy, round faced princesses in pretty pretty dresses just takes all the depth, darkness, and child terrifying that fairy tales have and their core and white washes them into the "learn to read" fairy tales walmart sells, and kills the bits of the stories I love best. It is late here, and I'll look at character bios/webisodes tomorrow and judge more then, but for the superficial parts of this line, the bits that pulled me into MH before, I am less than interested. Especially if they all have the same round, little child faces.

Probably Kitter, it just takes publishers around a year to go into paperback.

I mean, people got upset about the first wave Clawdeen shaving mention (which made no sense).

why? stupid!

In fact, it's not stupid at all.

People got upset over the shaving mention because Clawdeen was all like "ohhh gotta shave, shave, shave my body to look okay", which is a.) sexist because men aren't forced to shave off all their body hair to get accepted by society, yet women are "gross" or "unclean" for having hair anywhere except for their head and eyebrows.
And b.) it is just incredibly dumb to promote a doll that is all about "be yourself, be unique" and then having her ramble about that in order to look fabulous she shaves her entire body.

Now, when I first read about Clawdeen's shaving issues I just giggled because "hey, she is a werewolf!" and I just assumed the other wolf siblings would do the same (yes, also Clawd).
But I can also see how such a sentiment is problematic when it's about a doll that is sold to 6-year-old girls to promote self respect and being true to yourself.
A lot of people were like "yeah, living up to society's sexist beauty standards isn't really about being rebellious and being yourself" and I agree.

This isn't realy about "why does a werewolf shave?" but about "why the flip does Mattel tell my girls to be unique and live up to society's f-ed up norms at the same time?". It's just as a valid complain as are the non-articulated killer heel feet.
So before you just call anything that criticizes MH "stupid", learn about the context first ;)

I actually know the controversy's context, but disagree with it. I mean, yeah it's living up to society's standards? But I have a friend who will not wear a swimsuit or skirts (despite loving them) if she hasn't shaved in a past two days, because she's been so trained that leghair is the devil and disgusting. I've read articles on child's spa treatments, because apparently if you wax a little girl's legs 3-4 times, you can kill all hair growth on them, even when they reached puberty/adulthood, and just "think of how much you'll be saving her when she grows up!"

The people who have issue with Clawdeen mentioning shaving her legs, should look at themselves and the message that we're already all being pushed into (at least in the US): leg and body hair are gross, and should not be. I mean heck, look at True blood; so many topless men, none of them with chest hair because eww hair is gross.

..Done derailing the topic now, but I have to drop in my two cents on this topic.

On topic- I want to see a lizard girl, with maybe a larger jawline and detachable tail.

Black and White Frankie showed up in February, so she still could be. The special price just won't be until September, at least for most stores.

I can't wait to see the designs! I wonder if there will be webisodes or TV specials too.

I think/hope it will be pretty much an exact copy of MH. Tho probably a lot more 'tame', to cash in on those parents that have always refused to buy 'THEM UGLY MONSTER DOLLS' for their children. ;c

Them ugly monster dolls.  Hehe.
One of my friends was looking at MH dolls, and a woman with her daughter walked past, looking at MH and said. "Those are F*cking ugly dolls" right in front of her little girl and them proceeded to call the Bratz beautiful. Which confused us both, because to me MH are definitely more aesthetically pleasing.

Rochelle's hat stays on without the ties- it's molded to fit her ear snugly, which keeps it on her head. I always hate and removed the plastic ties, and mine hasn't lost hers yet.

Part of me hopes these dolls come with pretty glass eyes like the bratzillaz but then that might make them too different to look good with my monster high collection
I was hoping this too actually. They'd be so much nicer to customize
I actually don't like the bratzilla glass eyes. Not because they aren't cool? But they're fixed in position, which makes the glass eyes seem unnecessary.

Aand bought this one too. Really, I'll just keep tossing money at you if you keep making patterns. In part because your prices are fair and you keep doing things I am interested in. Now to make a Hufflepuff uniform for my ghost CAM.
