Coco Pommel Poseable Pony and Hair Fix - Explore Equestria

Grabbed Explore Equestrian (EE) Coco from Amazon and opened her for Xmas.
I really love the pose-ability and I'm an odd-ball saying this.. but I wish ALL future G4s were jointed like this.  Even the big ones!  So much more fun!

My biggest gripe, though it's about the new G4s is that the hair is different... it squeaks when you comb it and goes all frayed very easily, not frizz per-se but frays out strangely; it doesn't flow nicely like G4s a few years ago.  It’s hard to explain the difference, but it certainly feels cheaper - less silky.  Lighter weight?

So here’s Coco with very bad box-hair.  A huge “pinch” of hair right at the start that isn’t cute at all.  I can’t figure out how it come out that way, It’s not even where the plastic hair-holder piece was.  Anyone know????

After.  I rinsed, conditioned and dried in a small curler.

Sorta.. better?  I could try again and put in a curler closer to her scalp, but I just hoped rinsing and conditioning would relax it out.

It’s too bad they have odd hair right out of the box.   Your average girl or mom is likely not going to take the time to condition the hair.

It looks like a case of 'bed hair' to me, like they've just woken up, lol.  I agree it's not great when a pony comes out of the box looking like this though.  Really really hot water would take out the kink but you would then have to re-curl again as it would also take that out too.  Your new ponies look so pretty, despite having less than perfect hair.  Congrats and thanks for sharing pics

My Starlight Glimmer's hair was terrible straight off card but boiling hot water straightened it right out. Congrats on your lovely new pony.
