That does look like the mold he was talking to us about when I was working with him last month at ponycon! He said the body part (shown) was still in existence but the head had gone missing. Hmmm I'll have to send him an email..Part of my table at the generations exhibit ^^visitors can't see pics , please register or login
I really think from these photos- that the heads that this collector has, are the real deal. Honestly I am surprised that auction went as low as it did- although I guess a head mold is of limited use without the body mold.I too am in favor of MAKING MORE PONIES!!!!

He will be very surprised to learn that it was found!
I've collected Kenner and Mattel prototypes over the years- and it seems like many things like these get rescued from the trash (in the case of Kenner), or taken home by employees, or sometimes the sample-makers "keep" things... Usually this happens after the line is discontinued- and the company requests the items be destroyed or recycled. Thank goodness for a few naughty employees and sample makers, is all I can say...
