So, that Twilight that I used to see how the ponies worked? Yeah, I never actually rehaired her with blue, and I can never think of any good alicorn ideas. I snagged another Applejack from Target and just did a head transplant so I can have easier bases. Which means I have a pegasus I can still make something out of! Cool.
I actually painted the pony itself a month ago or so, before the semester got too crazy. I'm still working on being patient and making the eyes look good, but it was cool to have some sort of free reign on the shape of it. I'm sure that will be cooler the more comfortable I get with drawing eyes. I don't know how she got dust on the back of her ear, probably just something that happened when I used sealant on her paint.
I tried to incorporate pearlizing medium into her hooves, I don't think I used enough of the stuff, but I do like that I painted her hooves at all!
The chipping...I heard that Dolljunk uses superglue on joints to prevent chipping, but either it didn't work or the glue I used wasn't super enough. There's also some spot where I nicked her paintjob when I was rehairing that is expertly hidden in the photographs. Bleh. I didn't save any paint that I had mixed and I don't feel like patching it, so she'll just face the other way on my shelf.
Her hair is nylon from Dolltress. It's really nice! I still prefer TheDollPlanet stuff but there are some very pretty blends that I'll keep an eye on in the future. It'll be good to use on customs where I want a less-smooth look. It's not a 1-1 match for Moonstone but that doesn't bother me all too much.
I had an idea for the pegasus, but now I'll think of something else, since it would be silly to paint her blue when Rainbow Dash exists now.
Oh!! Her tail! Is very very thin. I'll have to expand the hole next time, it wasn't deep nor large enough to make it easy to glue anything in. I hate glueing hair in period...but I don't think there's a way to circumvent this. I may put more hair around the general tail area on her just to get some pink in there, but I'd suggest drilling more space in if you customize one yourself.

Ooh, that full mane of hair is what I wanna see on all ponies! Great job! She’s a cutie! Also, I just slap a coat or two of clear top coat nail polish on my customs to prevent paint chipping. Works really well.

Oh she turned out nicely...the colors of paint and hair look just right.  Sounds like those ponies are really hard to customize?  I still haven't held one in my hand so I have no idea.

The tail is a pain but the head isn't so bad. I like how much room there is on the face! Lots of potential for cool eyes and designs.
