Lil' Tot Info?

I'm curious about Lil' Tots' story.  I received one as a mail order as a child(my only mail order pony).  I think I asked my mom what her name was and she said she didn't have a name so I would have to name her myself.  I ended up calling her Playful.  Was Lil' Tot her actual name or was that something that collectors called her? Also I know she was part of some kind of promotion, such as for every pony received a sick child received one or something to that nature.  Does anyone know what the promotion was for certain? Thanks!

Lil Tot was a promotion for Toys for Tots. A pony was supposed to be donated to Toys for Tots for each Lil Tot that was sold.

I have to say, the real story is so much less tragic and fantastic than the fake story.  But a much more realistic story, and actually really awesome!
This really means that Lil'Tot should join the Christmas Pony gang.
