Peach Surprise ; weird hair?

Okay, so... I have a Peach Surprise pony that I picked up at a yard sale last year. I've just now gotten around to fixing her hair, and I noticed her hair feels weird; lower-quality or something, more like fakie hair than real pony hair. Plus it's water-resistant; I soaked her, and her hair still feels almost completely dry. 

Is this normal for this pony?

The change in quality was recently discussed here and it looks like you're experiencing their budget cuts from G3... It's possible that the quality in hair began to decline at the butt-end of G3.

Yes, from my exp, it's normal.
She was from what, that cosmetics promotion or something? Avon? But I also think she was released more than once. I know for sure one of them has rotten quality hair. To avoid that, you've got to get one that was just displayed, not played with. If kids were combing or styling her, the hair went wrong if you got one of the 'dud' releases I think. I went through...2 of them before I got one who's hair was ok for display. Could they have done it because she was a promo?

I got a cupcake with bizarre perma-grease hair once, really odd) Who's the one who's hair reacts with the hair glue & it all breaks off? I know there's a plastic-heads plush that does that (because I have it, and it did it) but I think there's a regular pony who does it too if it's exposed to sun it activates the glue which then eats the hair and it all breaks off at the root.

The discount G3s had lower quality hair, as did the Avon ponies. That hot pink colour (on Baby Tea Leaf, Green Apple, etc) is especially bad and will break at the hair line. The others' hair is just difficult to tame, but luckily not as bad as that.

I've had the same issue with the hot pink on Comet Tail.

Yep, all the Avon ponies had really bad quality hair.

Pretty much any of the neon colours can devlop the issue unfortunately. But the hot pink suffers the most.

As mentioned a lot of the later exclusive and budget released ponies in g3 have issues with hair quality. Cheaper made in order to sell to retailrs. So your girl sounds like she is going through the same thing as pretty much all her releases.

I've heard of rotting hair on G3's before too, but (luckily) I've never had to deal with it myself.
