And sort of unrelated, why did they have to name the Baby ponies exactly the same thing as their parents! Its just a little bit narcissistic! Sure, they can look the same (minor differences would be nice though...) but give it a different name! Geez!

It's actually written flikker, but it sounds the same, and uhm it's a kinda negative/ mocking name for (sissy) homosexuals. So.. the first time I heard that name, I was like: Baby what!? LOL...

Oh, man...G2 has some of the most wretched names EVER!! Tipsy Tulip? What is that about? Butterfly Hunter is pretty wretched. As is Swirly...sounds like something involving a head and a toilet for college initiation!
Dizzy Lizzy, BEACH PONY!? C'mon who phoned that one in? Countryside Pony, Miss Teacher, Miss Painter, Miss. Chef, Apple Pie, Clever Clover, and Medicin. Actually, I'm on the fence about Medicin. It's quasi interesting...it sux, though because I love all of these ponies, but I don't really want a MIP Dizzy Lizzy...her name on the package makes you wonder if she's going to kill you a shiney hatchet...

I felt most of the G3 names weren't all that bad. They might have been exceeding cutesy wootsie but at least they didn't sound like something someone does in the bathroom (or bedroom) like some G1 names.

In germany they indeed got a little different names.
For example,
Firefly & Baby Firefly = Feuerfunke & Baby Flammenflitzer (translates to "Firespark" & "Baby Flame Dasher")
Glory & Baby Glory = Sternschnuppe & Baby Schätzchen (translates to Shooting Star & Baby Darling / Honey / Sweetie)
Moondancer & Baby Moondancer = Traumtänzer & Baby Sternentanz (translates to Dreamdancer & Baby Stardance)
Blossom & Baby Blossom = Primelchen & Baby Honigkuchen (Primrose & Baby Honey Cake)
Cotton Candy & Baby Cotton Candy = Kügelchen & Baby Karamell (Pearl / Pellet & Baby Caramell)
