Here's a freshie from just today.  Poor Denim Blue came in with the swampwater blues. She loos like Marge Simpson! She smells like Homer! And I think she has a little Milhouse in there too...she smacks of sidekick, and someone needs to introduce her to deoderant. Whew!

I tried to do that on a NBBE Lickety Split, but it did not work. What did I do wrong?

I use a really good shampoo first...sometimes people will advise against this, but I actually find it kind of gets the hair a little softened up even before the conditioner goes in, especially when you have papya extract in it.  Next a good rinse and some really cood conditioner.  Try a few different ones and you're sure to find one you like. Next, get rid of the toaster in the bathtub ingrained horror you feel about ising a flatiron on wet hair.  I haven't been zapped yet, and don't intend to.  Just really give your iron a good cleaning after it cools down.  WITH THE CONDITIONER ON separate the hair into smallish sections.  The size of each section depend on how bad the frizz is. Pass a small tooth comb through the little strip of hair to align them as much as possible, then hit it with the flatiron.  Don't hold in any one place or too long, though, and each time you flatiron the hair, wet the hair again..I find this to be way effective.  pull the pony down and away from you while clamping and pulling the hair up a couple times, then switch and pull the pony up and the flatiron down.  This will help get both sides evenly.  Repeat until done. Make sure the hot iron oesn't get too hot, though. I use a little guy that gets to scorching fast, so I have to make sure my pony is ready from the get go. Practice on a baity pony first to get into the rhythm so you don't mangle a good one.
Run her hair under very hot to boiling water to rinse the leftover conditioner out, pass the comb through a few more times and you're done!  Sometimes there'll be a little dryness at the ends, at shich time you can decide to trim or leave as is.  Your pony, up to you.
Good luck!

Wow! So many wonderful transformations. I don't have any photos - I've never thought about using a hair straightener before. Mine only has one setting so I don't want to chance it ;)

I just use a regular clothes iron on the lowest setting & put a damp cotton cloth over the hair and work quickly brushing in between. Got the method from a long time Barbie collector who uses it on all his dolls (of all eras) and it's been completely safe so far for me.

I always leave the conditioner in the hair while im straigthening. I use a flattening iron that only has one setting, 200 celsius. That's 392 fahrenheit if I can trust google. I've seen pony hair melt only once, and that was the colour changing hair on Waverunner. Normal hair, never.

Here's some pictures:

Wow, some great de frizzing. I have done so many but sadly no before pics. I've never used a iron or curling iron though to scared. I let mine soak in fabric softner for a day or two, then wash out and apply conditioner for a few hours, then add suave de frizzy cream. Turns out beautiful but its a long process.

I'll have pictures of mine up later! I used a simple boil-dip-brush method.

Just a question; can the boil and dip method be used on ponies with tinsel in the hair? I gave all my ponies except the ones with tinsel a spa treatment just in case something happened.
