What type of ponies did you go for when you were a kid?

I was there to experience the magic of the 80s and original MLP.  I have very clear memories of what I liked.  With Year 3, it was all about BABY PONIES.  I still remember the commercial coming on and seeing Baby Cotton Candy in it.  I had to have her (and I got her).  I also loved the ponies w/ curly hair from that year, although now I don't like curly hair that much b/c I liked combing pony hair, and curly hair is better off left alone.

I was always an accessories nut, so I liked BBE babies b/c of the high chairs and wagons.  I also loved the newborn twins when they came out.  Funny now I'm not that into baby ponies!

I loved the TEs, So Softs, and all of the babies.  I also flipped when the newborn twins came out!  I loved them, and their accessories!

I just remembered I was crazy over unicorns. I was so jealous when my sister and I went to the flea market and she snatched up Fizzy and Galaxy before I did. I was so jealous! Unicorns and TE's are my favorite to this day. That's why I so desperately want Mimic. She's gorgeous!! *wants*

I didn't really care what pony I got when I was little. I loved and wanted All of them. Hehe.

The only one I remember picking out was my Remco. I don't like and never have liked toys with a lot of parts and features. Features and frill makes it too busy and messy in my mind. I like more simple, well-defined things. I wouldn't have liked flutters at all. I used to cut parts off my vintage puppy in my pocket toys, say if they were molded to a pillow or molded with a bone in their mouth. I still remove McDonald's ponyville ponies from their bases.

Well, I remember I loved everything from the show, sadly there were almost none of them available in my town when I was a child. What I dreamt of was part of the TV show, so I would have bought ponies like the Flutters, Wind Whistler, Magic Star, Truly ... but I had no chance to get them here. So I was after all ponies with curls and yummy symbols. And everything with rainbow design... unicorns too, in general!

awwww, I would have been in Heaven if I was you back then, Hathorcat! I wanted Rosedust too, but Flutterponies were not available here. I would have given my arm for Morning Glory too, and Honeysuckle... <3 awww, those memories of watching the movie over and over again. I tried to pretend that my Sugar Apple was a long lost Flutterpony ancestor back then, because she had wings lol.

Baby ponies were always my favorites, especially the newborn twins.  I had three sets of them as a kid, and would have loved to have more. *chuckle*  Not surprisingly my only big playset was the Lullaby Nursery. Not sure why they were my favorites, I guess because they had loads of fun accessories that most of the adult ponies didn't.

I dug out my old ponies a couple of months ago and I realised that they were all purple, pink or blue. Two are white but they have pink and purple symbols and hair. The main exception is Lemon Drop but she came with the Stable so I didn't choose her ... and she has purple hair so she fits in with the others anyway.
