loginHello everyone, everything good? Today I decided to do some research on My Little Pony G1 in Japan and post it here. I think everyone knows the My Little Pony takara line and those who don't know it will love getting to know it.
マイリトルポニー" ⇒ mai ritoru ponii ⇒ My Little Pony
Takaralogo
In the 1980s, Hasbro had a barter relationship with Japanese toy company Takara (now called Takara Tomy). Takara licensed Transformers to Hasbro. Hasbro licensed Takara's "My Little Pony." In 1985, the toy line "Mai Ritoru Ponii - Osharena Ponii" or "My Little Pony - Stylish Pony" debuted exclusively in Japan. The toys were marketed as dolls that you could dress and style their hair. There are 4 main characters and at least 11 different outfits that can be purchased separately.

The information on this page about the Takara line is as described on the packaging and catalog pages. Since only a few of the toys are known to collectors to definitively exist, it is very likely that many of them never made it past the prototype stage. The toys that have been confirmed to exist are shown in a chart below. The lack of a thrift store network like those that exist in the United States is one of many possible reasons why so few toys have been found by modern collectors.
Additionally, of the few items found, there was variation between two pieces of pony attire that apparently should have been the same item. There's no telling what kind of color/pattern/accessory variation is possible with these toys.
Characters
The main characters are twin sisters Pinky and Milky and their younger twin sisters Lily and Popo.
There are four additional Ochame Fashion friends who are the same size as Pinky and Milky.
There are 10 additional sets of animal twins that are the same size as Lily and Popo.
