Beautiful :lovey:

And you can walk through them without fear too. No fire ants or deadly spiders or crazy gun wielding rednecks. You're so lucky

I got back from a beach trip recently.

Sunrise on Glory beach.  Scenes from the movie "Glory" were filmed here.

Here's a picture bomb of june in northern Sweden. June is my favorite summer month as all the trees and blossoms just explode with colour and fraigrance and the light it usually soft.

We visited a cave in a forest in the outskirts of town. It's about 30 minute ride by bicycle from where I live.

Inside the cave, complete with a fireplace... and my husband.

My town is known as the city of birches. In the 1880s, there was a huge fire here, but a lot of the wooden buildings were saved by the birches that lined the streets. As a thank you the city keep having birches lining every street. This is part of the bike road I take to work.. oh, and it's around 4 am here. Yaaaay, for the midnightsun!

They're blossoming now

This is on my way walking into town centre yesterday. The city council has ruled to keep some of the green areas uncut so to keep the flowers for the bees and butterflies etc. I love how it frames the vies of the river. Oh, and the smell! Lovley, lovley, lovley.

On my way back home. A tunnel of bird cherry trees. Don't look too close thoough, the flowers are finnishing blooming and the spots are taken over by the bird-cherry ermine.. the trees are full of nets with larva crawling allover.. Lukcy I'm short so they wont touch my hair, lol.

^ Yes, you probably did!  ^.^ It's wonderful to see photos from different countries. Really great scenery in everyone's photos!  :frolic:
The landscapes in Beldarna's photos are quite similar to what is here in Finland, i.e. really wonderful!  That cave is unbelievably awesome! Has it been inhabited in the stone age?  :wow:

Heart of Midnight, I dont know, maybe.. probably..? I can't find any information of it. It's high up on a mountain and from a small distance it looks like two huge rocks has fallen against each other and are leening on each other creating that cave and there are several other rocks surrounding them. I guess they've been like that since the ice age and it makes a great shelter so I would say that people have used it through all ages :).

Beldarna, Thanks for the answer!  :) At least it seems so, and considering the location, it could have been a shelter.

I keep trying to get photos from my phone but it is still misbehaving. Sigh. Mum and I have taken some beautiful walks this year as well.

Completely different subject, but this morning I was inspected by some baby sparrows. One sat on my quarterlight window and peered down at me, while another hopped along my windowsill, intermittently pecking at the grape vine tendrils and peering in my window.

Some years back, a baby sparrow that looks just like them did end up accidentally flying into my room, so I kept my side windows closed today just in case. But with the curious little one peeking in the window (even if it's probable he couldn't see me), I like to think that these are descendants of that one who have been told the family legend about the Wardrobe and the Human o.O.

Yesterday it was naughty starling fledglings. Today, sparrows.

We also had a visit from some geese and their goslings at our local pools. Our own pairs didn't have babies this year (rumours are the Council were involved, don't know if that's true but grr if they were...
Spoiler
Some years ago the Council smashed the eggs and got a massive backlash from residents. But some spoiled and hysterical dog owners like to take their pooches down to the ponds without leads and then claim that their dog is threatened by angry geese trying to protect their young. It's a lot of junk but unfortunately our local Councillors are of the dog persuasion and think the geese are a problem. They're not a problem. The dog owners are. End rant.

But there were three pairs, 19 goslings in all. They walked about a mile to our pools. I guess someone told them on the goose grape vine that there was empty space and free food here. ;)

I was inspired to take some nature photos on Wednesday.  ^.^  I also got to experience a wonderful surprise!

First, here are three photos of the insects in the yard. (I didn't make an exact species identification for these.)

Some bumblebee.

And here's the surprise!  :yippee:

The lime hawk-moth (Mimas tiliae) came to meet me in my "plant box"! :wow:
We had just finished pouring new soil there, and this popped up! It might have been straightening its wings in the shelter of chocolate mint or strawberry leaves. Fortunately, my mother noticed it in time so that it wasn't buried in the soil or otherwise damaged! I took it in my hand and it continued to vibrate its wings, so it had apparently just hatched from its cocoon a while ago. I was surprised by how stinging its legs were, as if tiny needles had been inserted into my skin! Also, the power of the wings was incredibly powerful! Like a mini fan! After taking the pictures, I went to lay it on the leaf of the fern where it was left in peace to continue its life. Later in the evening I went to see, but it had already moved on.
I've met something similar once before, but it's been almost ten years since then. I then found it encased and put it in a glass jar to develop. A similar moth was born from it and I set it free.  :)

Aw, you made a friend! Such a pretty moth :D Insects are amazing, if more people would just stop and really look at them. It's lovely that it trusted you while it shook out its wings :D

What great pics! I love the bees and the moth :inlove:

A mourning dove has been hanging around my balcony. She was up in the little ledge above the pillar, I think she's considering making a nest there :D
