Oxy Bathing Twinkle Eyes
« on: February 08, 2022, 02:36:49 AM »
Hi all ^.^ Ive recently gotten a g1 Sweet Stuff whos leaking plasticiser; i need to get her head off and i know boiling water with oxycleaner will help loosen the glue around the neck and help the plasticiser. But i dont know if the water and oxycleaner will affect her eyes; the shine on them is perfect so should i use a different method or is this method okay? Thanks!

Nope, don't use Oxyclean on their eyes (and symbol of Princess Ponies for that matter), it will ruin their paint.
I usually simply apply heat to the neck seam with a hairdryer and work my way around the neck seam with a butter knife. (Or X-Acto knife if you're extremely careful, but it usually ends up cutting through the vinyl so I'm not using this method with my ponies anymore)

Yep, definitely stay away from Oxiclean for her.

I would simply wipe her down with hot water and soap to try to remove the plasticizer until she quits leaking. I probably wouldn't chance removing her head just over plasticizer unless her tail had rust as well. :)

just rub her down with baby powder and then wipe with a towel.  no oxi-clean!
