Does Moondancer Have Cancer?

Is this spot cancer or am I paranoid?

If it is cancer, what should I do? I'm putting my entire collection into storage for a few years and I don't want it to spread to the other ponies or get worse while I'm gone.

if it wont come off from washing, its probably a small cancer spot. cancer cannot spread to other ponies via one pony catching it, but if this dot is new then that's a red flag that your storage conditions are less than great. if the dot is old, then it clearly hasnt spread (if youve had her for a while) and you're all good. i would scour your other ponies and see if any new spots have showed up on your girls.

Thank you! What should I do with Moondancer, though? Give her a bath?

i would definitely give her a gentle oxiclean bath and soak on the inside, but the cancer won't go away. its just to remove any bacterias and anything else living inside there. once the spot is there it can be temporarily removed with oxiclean, but it will come back regardless.

Eh, doesn't look like the right colour to me for age spots.  Kind of greenish?  Could be the photo.
If it's not brown, it may be an old pen dot or speck of paint/dye that's bled out into the plastic.

Oxyclean does NOT remove age spots. Seriously what is with people recommending harsh chemical treatments at the first sign of any speck?  Avoid conditions mold/mildew can grow in and you're basically as well protected against them as possible.  Oxy should really be reserved for truly filthy ponies with definite cases of mildew - it reacts badly to certain hair colours, is known to cause flocking and glitter loss in certain ponies, strips metallic paint and twinkle eyes, and is really not the be all and end all people harp it to be.

Simple antibacterial hand soap and water would work fine for cleaning (take care around symbols). Just make sure to let her dry thoroughly.

It looks like cancer to me, the colour seems off (could be the pic) but it has that faded ring around it that some of mine have when the plastic breaks down. Think about how you're going to store your collection, make sure that it won't be exposed to any moisture, I personally use silica packets to keep moisture at a minimum, as I live in a humid area. I bought about 100 on ebay for $1 a couple of years back, so I threw them in my totes when I stored my collection again last year. I checked on them around early March, and they're doing great so far. This isn't my first rodeo with pony storage though, I'm a bit of an old hat. A pony's worst enemy for cancer in storage is heat. I had a bunch of ponies with small age spots stop getting them when I moved to a slightly cooler (albeit much more humid) climate. They stayed in the same tote, wrapped in the same paper, stored in dark cupboards with blankets over the totes (yes, I was paranoid!) in both homes, the only difference was the climate. I haven't noticed a new case of cancer in the 9 years I've lived here, and my ponies have been in and out of storage the entire time, life being as crazy as it is these days..

It looks almost gray-green.  So I don't think it is.

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing that. It looks green to me, and makes me think ink spot or maybe mold. But not necessarily cancer.

The way to be certain is to hold it up to a strong light source such that the pony is between your eye and the light source.  CenterPoint cancer, also known as age spots, is deep in the material and what you see is just the center and the faded spot around the center point is just deeper in the material so will show up boldly when held up to a strong light source.  If you don't see the larger spot when it's backlit, it is probably not centerpoint cancer.
